When city butcher Michael Robinavitch moves into a small frontier town for work, he expects long days, quiet nights, and a life kept mostly to himself.

What he doesn't expect is Dennis Whitaker, a steady-handed cowboy with a ranch on the edge of town, a soft heart he tries to hide, and a way of getting under Michael's skin before either of them knows what to do about it.

This is a slow-burn western romance full of small-town gossip, winter evenings, shared meals, jealousy, hurt/comfort, first kisses, relationship repair, and two stubborn men learning how to choose each other on purpose.

When a near fall in the middle of a busy ER almost makes Dennis say something he can’t take back, Michael can’t stop thinking about the words left hanging between them.

After nearly a year of keeping their relationship secret, one small slip threatens to unravel everything.

Beneath the pressure of long shifts, close calls, and stolen moments, Michael and Dennis are forced to confront what happens when hiding each other starts to hurt more than being seen.

I'm currently looking for mods to help with After Hours a for-profit digital Dennis Whitaker x Michael Robinavitch zine.

This project is still in the early planning stages, and we're looking for organized, communicative people who would be interested in helping bring the zine together from start to finish!

Open Mod Positions:

Layout Mod — formats the final digital zine PDF to ensure the finished release looks polished and easy to read.

Writing Mod — helps review writer applications, support writers during check-ins, and assist with content warnings/editing guidance.

Art Mod — helps review artist applications, support artists during check-ins, and make sure final art files are ready for layout.

Prior zine experience is helpful, but not required for every role. We're mainly looking for people who are reliable, respectful, organized, and comfortable communicating with a small team.

This will be a for-profit digital zine, with profits going to contributors after (if any) platform fees and project-related expenses. More details about project timeline, contributor expectations, and payment structure will be shared as planning continues.
