Gehrman, the First Hunter miniature made by hand from paper, foam moss, static grass, fine gravel, & epoxy resin
An overly indulgent video showing off this quick diorama
I love your miniatures so much, you are so insanely talented at them! I'm trying to practice drawing scenery, I was wondering if I could use some of your shots of your minis for reference?
You can definitely use any photos as reference. If you share my work as reference, it'd be great to be credited clearly as always. Best of luck and enjoy your time while doodling! I'd love to see what you draw!
I’m curious about the tea grounds you mentioned using in the bloodborne model project- are they really safe for paper long term? I assumed not but I’d love to be wrong 0.0
I'm curious what you'd be concerned with between tea grounds and paper? I tend to apply them similar to flocking powder. I apply a coat of pva glue to the area I want to apply tea grounds and then I'll typically do a second brushing of pva glue over top so they're sealed in nicely. I also seal all of my work with a clear sealer so the elements are generally not interacting with the tea grounds. I've never had any trouble with it and I LOVE tea grounds for add'l texture!

ZELDA SKYWARD SWORD - Skyloft.
Do you ever do making videos? Because I would be absolutely fascinated to see your process if so. If not, I will just stare at the stills until my retinas burn out, so no worries.
Realizing I've gotten a large backlog of this question in different variations over the last few years (I guess I never noticed all of the asks in my inbox). I just answered a different person's version of this question and the short answer is that I am far too anxious to also capture video of the process on top of the already lengthy process of making these sculptures. BUT I will use your question to say that as far as my process goes I dont enjoy watching other people make things for the most part. Unless I really really really need a very specific technique I will typically fast forward artist making videos to see the finished product. I actually prefer seeing artist's work in still images or at most in small video snippets without "tutorial"ness because it activates the big wonder part of my brain. I will refuse to ask how so I can try to figure out for myself because the journey of theorizing a process and taking it to my little paper laboratory is genuinely is more satisfying. An anecdote: I have a fellow miniaturist buddy who was creating these The Thing inspired miniatures (@no_omega_miniatures on instagram) with TONS of viscera and I was so awestruck by his technique in creating specifically the viscera. Although we spoke often over the course of time in which he was making this series I refused to ask how he did it. There were many times I told him specifically NOT to tell me or show me how he did it because I wanted to figure it out for myself. In the end the version I theorized was not how he did it, but I really loved how mine came out and the process helped shed a giant light on how cool his brain works in creating his own THINGS. That for me is how art should be approached is with enough room to wander on your own. Thanks for your question!
Hello! I stumbled across your blog from seeing your Leyndell paper mini which is PHENOMENAL!! I was deeply curious how your process works! Do you have any videos showing the process? Thanks!!
Thank you! I dont have any video, I do have a free Patreon that has a few extensive weekly journals with photos of certain projects but I am far too anxious when it comes to video.
Hi! Love your work.
Just wanted to ask- do you know of the game Nine Sols, and if so, do you think you'd ever make a diorama out of any of its environments? It's similar to Hollow Knight in many ways so I thought you might be interested.
Thank you! I JUST downloaded Nine Sols today. I've had it high on my list since it released and everybody I trust says it's great. Very much looking forward to booting it up because it looks gorgeous.
