Oh god. Oh no. She sighed, rubbing her hands gently together. She could still hear people around town, talking about her, spreading the rumour. Though, it was true. “….Yes mami.”

Oh, no. She wasn’t.. actively upset, not in the way she might have been if this happened even a year ago, but there was a lot of competing emotions battling in her poor brain, and she didn’t know which one to listen to.

She was going to be an abuela! That was every mother’s dream. But.. her daughter was unmarried, and despite how serious she knew Mariano could be, well, Dolores was still a rebound. Not to mention the problem of her being pregnant too. How do you even begin to explain that to any children born from such a scenario?

A cloud gathered over her head in all of a second, and she gathered her daughter tight into her arms, face terrifically pinched as it started to snow.

“Do you think so? I can see at least one of ours is cursing, right now.”
