"But not this time. This time, I win. This time, I save everybody."
I love them so much, a zany queer old man grappling with mortality, a brilliant black woman and former journalist trying to find her emotional footing, and a grumpy old man trapped between wanting connection and grieving his wife
There's also a supernatural mystery, which I also love, but we know why I'm here
Yay Ghost Wax is coming back thos summer!! 🤩✨✨✨
The Boroughs
I'm watching The Boroughs (3 episodes in so far, it's only getting better) and you know what, everyone needs to watch it! Why don't I see anyone talking about it??
A bunch of elders (supposedly, they don't really look old) living in a creepy hospice-like town built specifically for the retired people, with a creature stealing their life force and quartz for some reason? How cool is that??
(The town's owner and his wife (?) are creepy too, I suspect they're much older than they look.)
All the characters are charismatic and memorable, too. I like how themes of life and death, getting older, grief and some others are handled here. Despite all that being very much present, the overall tone is very uplifting and lively.
TW: In episode 2 there's an animal death (a crow that's there for maybe 5 minutes but trust me you'll be attached to it by the end, so it hurts), which - honestly a beforehand TW would be nice. But then in episode 3 his friend, one if the characters, buries him, and... it wasn't only heartwarming but a very good example of how the show handles its topics.

happy pride month to those in the closet. to those who went back into the closet. to those who have unsupportive families, friends and relationships. those who were bullied and harassed because of their identity. those who were killed because of who they truly were and loved.
you are loved and appreciated.
i had the best human interaction of all time last night. i was sitting at a bar eating an appetizer and this guy comes up to order a drink and stares at my food and comments how good it looks. when i am drunk i use the word bitch like it is a comma, i plug it into any space in a sentence possible. so naturally the first thing i say to this stranger is, “go ahead and take one, bitch.”
he looks SO shocked and taken aback and goes “what did you just say? how do you know my name?” so i sit there for a moment trying to figure out what the fuck he is talking about, and then go, “…. bitch?” and he looks so relieved and tells me his name is mitch.
i cannot stop thinking about this. oh my god. imagine going into a bar and someone you know for a fact youve never met approaches you and says “go ahead and take one, mitch.” im cracking the fuck up. he looked like he thought this was the fucking truman show
My gender is Homosexula
And they’re all Vlad
Recently we took a trip to another city, it was very nice ❤ It was the first time I traveled somewhere in a long time, and the first time I had a little companion with me. I'm glad she kept me company 😊
Gotta tell you guys something wild in the Chinese fan sphere
So some fanartist drew a “sexy” (read: booby) version of a (cartoon) character who is traditionally very non-sexualised. Fans of the character got mad about it because it’s kind of groundbreaking how that character is written and portrayed and this art totally ignores the entire point of the character. They demanded the art be deleted. In response to that other people said, well what the fanartist did may be distateful but they have every right to draw what they’re into. The two sides fight for days and each starts a harassment campaign and even report their “opponents’” accounts.
So far so typical. But things eventually come to a head and they decide that this will be settled by votes - not through a poll. Through donations to a children’s education charity via each side’s portal. Whoever can get the highest amount of donation wins.
And that is how this charity received over 1 million in donations in three days lol. Oh btw the “freedom of expression” side won by a landslide (960k to 40k)
From now on this is how all petty fandom disputes should be settled.

Banksy has confirmed that a new statue erected in London is his work and I think it might be one of my favourite pieces by him.
Called "Blinded by the Flag" it... actually, you don't need me to explain it, it's art, you'll get it and interpret it yourself.
It's in Waterloo Place, Central London, if you're nearby.
The first photo had me nodding, and then the full shot nearly killed me laughing. Perfection!
"Your place or mine?"
"I want to be a dragon."
This is a bit of a random doodle from yesterday I decided was nice enough to post. Does anyone recognize this from a long gone Disney ride? I used to watch videos of this ride in the early 2000s, enchanted but mostly horrified if I'm being honest. I'm glad I can point to 'submechanophobia' (specifically of submerged animatronics) as an actual term to articulate this fear of mine, but the two versions of this ride in California and Florida both make me deeply uncomfortable and unsettled to my core, but in a morbidly fascinated way. Which is why I wanted to draw my take on this part of the ride, to pay tribute to this specific fear of mine haha. If you're not familiar with this ride, it's called 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Submarine Voyage where guests inhabit a submarine that takes them through a lagoon that features various sea animal animatronics, shipwrecks, a giant squid, and the ones that effectively target the fear trigger in my body - a sea monster animatronic accompanied by mermaid animatronics. The ride was shut down in the 90s but for whatever reason, wasn't completely demolished for at least ten years save for the lagoon being drained, but all the animatronics remained in tact, rotting during that time. There's some now famous photos online of the attraction which look like absolute nightmare fuel (to me). It's not actually meant to be a scary ride, and the way that the characters are designed are meant to be endearing and friendly, but if you look up images of this part of the ride, when combined with dark lighting and camera flash, it easily creates some really spooky shots of these underwater animatronics, so that's really what I wanted to do my interpretation of.

Busting through this art block with some Arospec Caro, a companion piece to my Acespec Johnny art from a few months ago. Green is so hard to work with it but I think I did it. Caro has a lot of trouble with the idea of romance, they don’t feel those feelings except under very specific circumstance, and have no desire too, they are happy the way they are. Of course they CAN catch feels, since I have a whole comic about it, but the circumstances have to be really specific. Like, really specific, like his name is Johnny. They are more of a no-strings-attached physical person in general, but hard to ignore a man who’s known you since you were both toddlers, and makes it quite well known he thinks you are the sun, and that’s very confusing for someone who’s not really felt this way before. Their Facebook status is ‘Its Complicated.’ If I had to pin it down, Caro’s grey or Demi, but still falls under the Aro-brella and I think that’s pretty cool.
