My favorite thing they do in a video game where you can dress up your character is go to a cold region and the NPCs say Better bundle up! And start wearing their winter coats and scarves and so on for that section of the story. Technically as an audience we’d all survive if they just continued to wear the one outfit they were designed with, however impractical for the setting, because that is one of the many oddities that the honed gamer mind is trained to withstand. As the player you are yourself almost never forced to put on a practical glamour for this weather. But it just gets you in the spirit of the thing if everyone is toasty, and it’s really cute besides. The coat alt. And I like when they specifically encourage the player to dress warmly for these sections too, even or especially if it’s a game where there’s no actual Cold mechanic you have to equip against. The game encourages the user to play toys with it

It's too hot...

In truth, the Rak'tika Greatwood only ever seemed to vary between warm and hot, and was always stiflingly humid.

Consequntly, Mimble was starting to somewhat regret offering to assist the joint archaeological expedition between The Stewards of Note and the scholars of The Cabinet of Curiousity.

He'd already dodged a giant boulder, fought off a swarm of venomous insects and gingerly negotiated his way around a pit of quicksand. And - thus far - there was no sign that the ancients had applied their arcane wisdom to the matter of keeping drinks cold, which Mimble felt was rather remiss of them under the circumstances...

Humble World Traveller.

Humble met up with Bunzo of @feistierermine on the Oceania Data Centre to say hello and for them to get some Humble data for a mysterious project...

Still a bit shaky with anxiety - not about meeting @feistierermine who was nothing but patient and supportive - but about managing the World Travel Process. I am not good with stressful and complicated processes. Hell, I'm not even good with straightforward processes. But I got there. And I got back again (eventually, after a few mess-ups).

I didn't get a very good picture, as I was a bit discombobulated, but here are Humble and Bunzo demonstrating their hugging techniques for the benefit of passing antipodeans.

Thank you to @feistierermine for being so kind and explaining things so patiently, even when I kept messing up. If anyone else ever wants to meet up on Materia to say hello then let me know - now I've done it once I can hopefully do it again... eventually.
