Jango (Junior) and Mird at a Mando farmer's market for te r'oya'kari'verd am lo te oya'kari'verd <the hunter becomes the hunted> written by @prowlingthunder and illustrated by yours truly for the @prequelsbigbang - it's a really great short story, which you should definitely check out if you ever thought "I wish clones, and people on Coruscant were allowed to be more around actual fruits and fresh produce"! Jango is a clone OC with Jango Fett's memories, who takes on side jobs when he's on leave on Coruscant.
te r'oya'kari'verd am lo te oya'kari'verd <<the hunted becomes the hunter>> https://archiveofourown.org/works/68705756 Summary: Jango hates Coruscant. The people are something else though.
It was an amazing challenge to draw this after the artblock I've had, thanks so much for being such a lovely and patient partner for this project @prowlingthunder! <3
LOOK AT ALL THOSE DETAILS.
It occurs to me I forgot to add some of my favorite details <3 @Omaano let me see it before all the shading had gotten done and I saved some of the choicest bits to come back to reference <3
These fruit! Fuzzy! You know the grandmother at this stall is making yarn out of this. You might go home with a warm sweater if she gets you to talking long enough. There is a Special Knife to cut them. She also sells the knife. It is very important to use Special Knife.
This lamp! Sure there are Other Lights in the market but you can do no wrong by bringing your own lamp. You might even manage to sell it to the neighbor! Show off your forgework, your welding, your craftsmanship, yes, this is very important. I want to own this lamp. I especially love the way this light makes the pennants glow.
This man who must touch and smell and test all the things before he buys. Must be just the right firmness. Just the right smell. This is an old grandfather who will always buy the choicest pieces and pay a good price for them because he KNOWS you don't sell sub-par pieces.
This very important clan negotiation going on back here. Are we buying food? Are we planning to let the verd'goten happen in your territory. Are we plotting what to do now that our two impetuous youths have decided they're riduure and suddenly we're clan?
The way everything NOT Mird and Jango and the verd is slightly out of focus the further away it gets from them, how it draws you into the center like your eye is actually focusing on them. The way each stall feels unique and specific to each given group. The cultural diversity that we're SUPPOSED to get with Mando'ade.
THE DIRT ON OUR CLOTHES. Have I mentioned I'm very feral for the little details shaded in here?
I will probably come back to this piece a thousand times and spot New Things. <3
