Hi! I’m @tuhkasirius, and this beauty right here is my marauders-themed sideblog. You may call me Oliver or Sirius (or a secret third thing, I’m not too fussy).
This blog exists so I have a place to post about my marauders fics as well as rb (or even post if I feel so inclined) good marauders stuff, as I didn’t want to clutter my main blog with that.
If you worship canon, leave now—I think canon is by far the worst part of the marauders fandom and I could not care less for what’s ”canonically true.”
I block and mute liberally and often with no concrete reason. I am a strong believer in being the person in charge of curating an enjoyable social media experience and not coming across stuff I don’t care to see is a part of that.
That being said, there are a few things that are absolute non-negotiables to me and if you disagree, you can fuck right off:
🌟WE DO NOT GIVE MONEY TO JK. DO NOT CONSUME HARRY POTTER IP. TRANS LIVES ARE MORE IMPORTANT THAN FANDOM. DO NOT EVEN HATEWATCH THE HBO SHOW. IGNORE IT ALL.
🌟Fandom is a communal space and fanworks aren’t a product—no one is entitled to them and they should not be criticised without prompting.
🌟Censorship is bad. Fanworks are works of fiction. Tags exist for a reason. Don’t like—don’t read.
🌟Everyone should touch some grass and talk to some real people sometimes. A grip on reality is a truly wonderous thing.
🌟Minors, TERFS & SWERFS & other flavors or bigot, and people who disagree with the above statements DNI
Now, we can get into what I DO like and will therefore possibly post about:
I enjoy a multitude of ships, including but not limited to: Wolfstar, jegulus, bartylus, bitchkiller, rosekiller, moonwater, and any interesting poly dynamics
As you can probably see, my tastes are very mlm-centric, because when I read romance-centric stories, I live vicariously through the characters and I’m a very gay man.
I also looove many of the lesbian ships, including marylily, pandalily, and dorlene, but I’m much less likely to seek them out
If I am god and I am deciding: Sirius is gay and gnc, Remus is bi, Peter is ace and James is pan. Reg’s gay and trans. Lily’s trans.
That being said, I’m so not fussed—as long as I feel like it makes sense in the context, I’m sold.
If a fic is tagged as canon-compliant, I’m so fucking unlikely to read it. I prefer to imagine canon doesn’t exist. I don’t like how no one gets a happy ending and everyone is boring and straight. The marauders have potential but JK hates all that is good and fun in the world.
I’m also unlikely to read something tagged G or T, I’m usually interested in ”adult themes.” Like smut, or graphic trauma recovery, or both. Generally I like my light-toned stuff smutty and my serious stuff gritty and angsty.

HBO Harry Potter is going to set records on an astronomical level, and I imagine more than half the people reblogging you are performative cowards and will watch it anyway directly on HBO. (I say that as anti HP and JKR). Pretending like it’s not going to be the most successful show in HBO’s history is insane and really underestimating it. Boycotts are not going to work because it is a tiny blip of people willing to do so. What do we when it is mega popular and people continue to love and enjoy her work?
So I wouldn't even answer this ask EXCEPT it's a fantastic example of someone who hates you and wants you to undermine your cause pretending to be on your side, so let's go through the points.
1.) Makes the assertion that you've already failed eight months in advance. Wants you to give up and give in because you think the cause is already lost.
2.) Implies that everyone else is secretly gonna do it, so you may as well too. Wants to chip away at your resolve.
3.) Claims to be on your side and therefore a trustworthy source.
4.) "Boycotts don't work." Demonstrably they do, as long as people are organized and persistent. Look at how Target and Starbucks are sweating and begging people to come back. Boycotts work.
If someone comes to you doing this shit, they are not your ally, they're trying to mess with you. They want you to fail. On the bright side, they're also often an indicator that your cause has gotten big enough that they're worried enough to go about it all underhandedly, so yay?
Because I did not get my act together to post monthly round ups in January or February, we’re going with a quarterly one and pretending it was on purpose. (And pretending I meant to post on April 1 and not March 31) This has been a truly amazing three months of fantastic fics.

It had been a fluke that he noticed the little banner on the packaging of his Vita-WOW chocolate flavored calcium supplement while doing the shopping—his preferred brand despite the fact that they’re considerably more expensive than the rest—and when he’d gotten home and found his reading glasses he’d squinted at the banner, feeling his eyebrows arch as he finally read the words: a contest to win a lifetime supply of the supplements.
He’d mulled it over for a few days before he decided to enter on a whim, thinking that surely there was no way that he would win, and had forgotten about it completely until months later when he’d gotten an email congratulating him on winning, at which point he’d realized he should have read the terms and conditions much more thoroughly...

Remus tries not to think too hard about the fact that Sirius has been staying in bed until noon lately.
He's always been one to wake early, rising with the sun and tackling the day with unbridled enthusiasm while Remus slept on, but now he can’t remember the last time that happened. Remus knows that they’re both getting older—in their sixties, which had seemed impossible when they were young and dumb and in the middle of their first war, but here they are—and logically he knew that one day Sirius would lose his still boyish nature. Remus hasn’t felt young since the late seventies, when his joints started popping every time he moved and he enjoyed an early bedtime over partying with his friends, but he couldn’t ever imagine that happening to Sirius, who has always been so full of life and vigor.
The thing is, if Remus is being honest with himself, he’s pretty sure that it can’t be chalked up to the fact that they’re aging.

“Hi,” Sirius breathes out, flinching in case that makes her attack, but the creature's ears just flick towards her as she slowly blinks. Sirius licks her bloody lips, wracking her brain as to what she could even be, her Outstanding score in Care of Magical Creatures failing her entirely. She almost looks like a werewolf, almost, but Sirius knows for a fact that she isn’t because the moon phase is a waning crescent and she’s never in her life seen a wolf that looks like that.
“My name is Sirius,” she says when the creature doesn’t do anything but blink at her, trying to sit up a little and failing when her arm gives out on her, going stiff when one of those clawed hands reaches out towards her. The touch is gentle, though, stroking over her back before it wraps beneath her rib cage, lifting her up into a sitting position with seemingly no effort at all. “Oh, I- Um, thank you. Do you have a name?”
“Remus,” she says, her voice surprisingly clear and higher than Sirius would have expected, nose twitching as she stares down at her.

Because of his dog form, Sirius becomes incredibly tactile. He rests his chin on Remus’s shoulder. He wears Remus’s jumpers. He rubs his head against Remus’s arm when he’s tired. He thinks it's totally normal and Remus never complains. One day in Transfiguration, McGonagall stops by their desk.
"Mr. Black," she says crisply. "While I appreciate inter-house unity, please stop marking Mr. Lupin."
"Marking?" Sirius asks, offended.
"You are covering him in your scent," McGonagall says, peering over her spectacles. "It is a canine trait used to claim a mate so other predators stay away. It is... distracting your classmates."
The class goes silent.
Sirius pulls his head off Remus’s shoulder. He sniffs the air. He realizes Remus smells entirely like him, like gunpowder and dog and his cologne. And instead of being embarrassed, he feels a deep, dark satisfaction in his chest. Good, he thinks. Let them know he's mine.

Also to be clear if you put the new Harry Potter show on my dashboard I will be unfollowing and probably blocking you. JK Rowling is responsible for the death and pain of too many trans people to count in my country and I cannot tolerate her new way of trying to gain cultural and financial power in any way shape or form.
I don't even want to see critiques of it. I don't want to see hatewatch reviews about how bad or dumb or racist or transphobic parts of it are like people did for the fantastic beasts movies of the hogwarts video game. You are part of the problem. Do not feed the machine. Let it die. You do not need to consume media you don't like just to show off to everyone else how much you don't like it. It's especially heinous if you say something like "I'm donating the cost of a movie ticket or a month's streaming subscription to a trans charity," because that doesn't balance the scales, it doesn't negate the evil, it just shows you are willing to support both sides, making you a spineless coward.
Just fucking ignore it and understand that it's going to be recationary on purpose. It's going to be full of bait. Warner Bros is counting on there being a ton of controversy to boost the numbers because there's no such thing as bad publicity.
DO NOT ENGAGE. Let it come and go, and maybe the numbers will be bad enough that it gets canceled before it gets to book 7. Probably not, though. This is a tentpole for WB, they're putting all their eggs in this basket, it's not gonna bomb like Morbius. They're gonna push it through to the end no matter what, so just do your part by not playing along.

dr zo, I think this is an excellent opinion with significant merit. to examine further we must consider several different angles to socks-on sex.
1. socks on = not gay
this may not be true, but it might’ve been believed by rj lupin circa 1977. from this, we may assume that he initially kept his socks on account of internalised homophobia, and the habit stuck. one could even argue that he still believes this and therefore thinks he is not gay married to sirius black bc his socks are ON.
2. socks are warm
if there’s two things we know about rj lupin, we know that he is a) underweight and b) a lover of all things cosy. we can therefore conclude that rj lupin would wear socks during sex for the practical purpose of keeping his feet warm. perhaps even his shins. perhaps even his knobby little knees!
3. socks hide feet-related insecurities
if there’s a third thing we know about rj lupin, it’s that the man is chalk full of insecurities. his feet could very well be one of them! maybe his toes are weird and crooked, or his nails are fucked up from turning to claws once a month. maybe they’re a lil bit hairy. maybe they’re completely normal and he is just weird about them! whatever the reason, it’s very likely he would want them covered during sex.
4. socks as emotional support
as stated, many speculate the socks qualify as a form of emotional support. this could be a result of any of the above three reasons (or likely, all of them), but it could also be completely separate. perhaps fun or funky socks help him feel sexy while otherwise vulnerable and naked. above all, it’s likely that rj lupin would have a strong aversion to being nakey, and the socks would help him feel less so.
