Onyx: i had a dream last night and i shit you not, i feel like it was some sort of premonition or something so if you suddenly see parts of the sky falling know that i'm the only one who can save us all
Sirena: Wow that's such an intense dream!!
Sirena: It almost sounds like a painting...
Sirena: Well, I certainly hope the sky doesn't start falling!!
text message ; alex
alex: if one more person requests 'under the sea' as the prom theme i'm just going to order a giant shark tank for everyone to swim in
alex: give better ideas please
sirena: but under the sea would be such a fun theme!! imagine all the cute papier-mâché sea animals you could make for it!!
sirena: but if you really need another idea, a gatsby theme would be fun :)
( text: sirena )
Zaki: Please don't. I'm fine, I promise!
Zaki: Oh, why don't you come over and bake with me. That always makes me feel better, I mean if you don't mind. I've got the ingredients.
Sirena: I always worry, Zaki. But I do trust you.
Sirena: Oh, that sounds even better! Baking together sounds lovely. Do you need me to bring anything over?
( text: sirena )
Zaki: I know, but I don't like to come between friendships.
Zaki: It's fine, really. Don't worry about it please.
Zaki: That actually sounds like something I'd enjoy very much... yes please! If it's not too much trouble, of course
Sirena: I'm still going to worry, Zaki...
Sirena: Alright! I'll whip up some chocolate cupcakes really quick and be over soon, if you're free :) If not I can come over another night.

alex;
Alex turns his gaze to her face when she mentions the video. He’s surprisingly calm, being beside, but that’s the only way he knows how to feel around her. Even when he had told her off outside Finale, he felt no desire to yell are speak too aggressively. Sirena is like solace, he thinks, glancing over her soft features and taking in the softness of her voice as well. He drops his head for a moment when she tries to offer some sort of ‘if only’ scenario before looking up at her again and shaking his head. “There’s nothing you could have done, Sirena,” he says calmly. “I was too… I wasn’t me.” He returns his gaze to the piece for a moment before looking at her to explain further. “I’ve wanted to tell you, y’know. All this time? I really did,” he says sincerely with a single nod. “But I wasn’t ready. Not to tell you, but to admit it to myself that nothing would ever change it. And as for that night…” He shifts a little until he’s facing her more, hoping to catch her gaze as he looks at her seriously. “I should’ve never spoken to you like that, Sirena. And I need you to know how truly sorry I am.”
She nods, understanding his words, and though some hurt still lingers from the words he’d thrown at her and the way he’d treated her, she isn’t one to hold a grudge. She’s ready to open up to him again, to accept him back into her life as a friend and help him deal with all the hateful comments she’s sure he’s receiving. Comments she’s received for years because of her mothers’ sexualities. “It’s okay, Alex,” she says softly, a small smile on her lips. “I’m not mad at you. You’re forgiven. It’s just water under the bridge, alright?” Running a hand through her hair, she tugs her lip between her teeth, the one question she wants to ask resting on the tip of her tongue. But a part of her fears asking it, fears the repercussions it will bring and the answer she’ll receive. “So, um, how’s your family taking the news?”
austen;
“No, I’m afraid. I have to admit, I’ve never thought of that before,” Austen responds between Sirena’s rushed words, until her own are drowned out by the incessant babbling of her companion. She would have been mad, but there’s a certain passion in Sirena’s eyes, a love that Austen can’t help but admire, and so, instead of telling her to shut up, she stays silent, listening to the excited chatter until she’s fairly certain Sirena has stopped. “Why don’t you go, then? Obviously her work inspires you a lot,” she says, gesturing to the dress. “And if you miss it, it’ll be an awful shame.”
Surprised that the girl is actually listening to her words, given that she’s never taken Austen for an art enthusiast, her smile widens, suddenly feeling more comfortable in the presence of the brunette. “I just have to find the time to go,” she explains, mood suddenly a bit dampened as she thinks of all the work she has to do, the two jobs she’s holding and the classwork piling up on top of it. It’s all becoming a bit much for her to handle. “I’m awfully busy as of late. But I’d definitely recommend checking it out if you’re interested. I’m sure it’s incredible.”
zaki;
He smiles, “I don’t mind at all. I should perhaps try to educate myself about art and what better person to help me than Sirena Wilde herself.” His lips spread wider across his face. As she speaks, he looks around, catching sight of the art professor who is also preoccupied with another student’s presentation. He nods slightly and, as usual, offers his arm, “Sure, let’s go!” He says eagerly. It’s not often he visits any of the art museums in New York, but he’s excited to do this with Sirena. “California?” He echoes, thinking back to a month ago when he’d announced he was going. The memory is tainted by Rhys’ drug usage, but he shakes it away – he shakes the bad aspects away because, in truth, it was perhaps the best vacation he had, his only complaint was that it lasted only two days. “I did.” He responds with a nod, a fond smile dancing on his lips, “It’s a great school, I uh, I also went to check out a few departments outside of Business.” He admits sheepishly as they walk together, “California is a really beautiful place. I hope I gain an acceptance. I should be hearing from Stanford any day now. The campus is beautiful, the people are surprisingly a lot nicer than they are here. The weather is amazing!” He rattles on excitedly.
She gratefully takes his arm and follows him out of the building, narrowly escaping the wandering eye of her art professor and managing to make it out into the cold. Smiling, she listens as he speaks, enamored with the passion he seems to have for the state. He seems truly happy about the prospect of studying in California, the grey clouds that had hovered over the boy following his rejecting from Harvard have all but disappeared, replaced by the bright glow that beams from his smile. “That’s amazing, Zaki,” she tells him with a smile, genuinely happy for the other. “Well, I’m certain you’ll get in. They’d be fools not to accept someone as brilliant as you.” She truly believes her words, believes that Zaki will get in wherever he wants, that Harvard was an unforeseen fluke, the rejection still baffling even her. “What other departments did you look into?” She tries to play her question off as harmless curiosity, but in truth she wants to know if he’s going to follow in his father’s footsteps or choose a passion of his instead. “Well, I should be hearing back from Berkley and Chicago soon. Pratt and Yale were busts, but they were reaches anyways,” her smile wanes slightly, but she keeps it in pace, not wanting to make the conversation about her.
kasey;
“Great!” Kasey chirps excitedly, handing Sirena the clipboard and pen for her to sign up. She’s glad she doesn’t have to do any more convincing – though her heartfelt speech about social injustice, poverty as well as capitalism designed to tug at the heartstrings is on the tip of her tongue, ready to use in case Sirena ever decides to back out. Though, knowing the other female, Kasey’s doubtful Sirena would back out. “It’s the length of central park, so approximately two and a half miles long.” She says, peering down at the clipboard, “Though, you don’t have to run the full length, you can also walk.” She suggests, her blue eyes looking back at Sirena.
Sirena quickly signs her name in perfect script, adding herself to the list of other volunteers. It’s a habit she has, never being able to stand up to anyone, and so she always bends herself to please the girl, fulfilling every need she can and working herself far too hard. But it’s for a good cause, and in her mind that makes it worth it. “No, no, I’ll run the whole way,” she quickly replies, handing the clipboard back to the blonde and tugging her lip between her teeth. In truth, she isn’t a runner, and has never been too athletic, preferring to spend days inside drawing or painting rather than partake in activities on the field. But she’s determined to run the whole length, because that’s what one is supposed to do. “I’ll just make time to practice for it, it’ll work out fine. Is there anything else you need me to do?”

Zaki: Gossip Girl and I'd rather not say the other one because she's a friend of yours.
Zaki: I try not to listen, however it's not as if it's the first time I've heard this being said about me.
Sirena: Zaki, you know you can tell me anything. Even if it's against a friend of mine.
Sirena: Besides, anyone who insults you shouldn't be a friend of mine.
Sirena: I'm sorry people say rude things to you... :( Do you want me to bring over cupcakes and catch up on GOT with you??

Zaki: What if someone says it with the intention of insulting me?
Sirena: Then you shouldn't listen to their petty insults.
Sirena: Who was insulting you?
( text: sirena )
Zaki: I'm not feminine, am I?
Sirena: No, not at all Zaki!!
Sirena: Why would you think that??
Sirena: And you know, being feminine isn't necessarily a bad thing...
“Hi, I know you’ve probably heard all about it for weeks now, but this is the final chance to sign up for the Annual Weslyn Prepatory charity run this weekend. We could still do with a few more sponsors and a few more runners.” Kasey grins widely waving her clipboard and pen in the face of the person in front of her, “Come on, you know you want to! We partnered up with UNICEF this year, so it’s for a good cause!”
kasey;
She doesn’t have a chance to get a word in, as the blonde is speaking too rapidly for her to process her words. It’s only when Kasey pauses to take a breath, imploring her to join the charity run she’s talking about, that Sirena gets a chance to voice herself. “Oh, uh, sure,” she says, unable to turn anyone down, especially when it has to do with charity. “I’m not much of a runner though... How long a race is it?”
zaki;
Zaki’s gaze trains on the piece of artwork Sirena seems to be referring to. His knowledge on artists and interpretations on art pieces are virtually non-existent – he mostly relies on Sirena to supply him with such knowledge. His gaze lands back on her as she begins to refer to her dress and he nods quickly in approval of her handiwork. “You’re incredibly talented, S.” He commends with a large smile at the mention of the Met he quirks his eyebrow. It’s not a place he usually goes to, but he’s more than willing to accompany her if she wants. “You should go!” He says enthusiastically, “We should go!” He corrects quickly, “I can’t say I will be the most pleasant company, but I will try. It would be interesting to hear more about her, and her emotions through her art.”
Her eyes light up at his words and a bright smile overtakes her features. “Oh, don’t say that. You’re always wonderful company, Zaki, I just might ramble on a bit once we’re there.” Already in her mind she’s concocting a plan for their trip, the Met being one of her favorite places in New York, just behind the MoMa. “We should go now, before I get hounded down by the art professor and am forced to do yet another presentation,” she tells the boy, a slight joke in her tone as she discusses her favorite teacher. “And on the way there we can catch up, because I feel like it’s been ages since I’ve seen you. How was your trip to California? Did you fall in love with Stanford?” She steps away from her art piece, towards the doors that will be their escape route, and looks back at Zaki to see if he’ll follow.
alex;
Alex thought he’d find Sirena here. There was a group of people standing before her and her piece, and Alex remained towards the back so she wouldn’t see him and get distracted. After she’d finished her presentation, there was a round of applause from the group, and he waited until they cleared to move onto another piece to approach her. Her hair was a darker blue now, and he had to admit he felt a little bit of sadness knowing the lavender color she’d done at his suggestion was gone, almost as if she’d done it to erase him after what he’d done to her. He wondered if she’d seen the video. Part of him hoped that she had, that maybe it would ease the blow if she rejected his presence. “Great presentation,” he speaks up finally as he approaches her, standing beside her to get a closer look at the dress. He slides his hands comfortably into his pants pockets, a light smile on his face as he admires her work. “It’s a really nice piece.”
She wants to be mad at him still, to continue harboring the anger she’d built up ever since he’d decided to cut her out of his life, replace her with better friends, cooler friends. But after seeing his video online, hearing him come out to the world, his secret revealed for all to see, she had found it harder to be angry with him. At this point, all she wants to do is tell him that it’s okay, that he could’ve told her what was going on, that she still sees him as a friend, no matter his sexuality. She ends up somewhere between the two extremes, crossing her arms over her chest instead of offering him a hug, she waits for the crowd to disperse before answering him. “Thanks,” she answers softly, no hint of a smile on her lips. “I saw your video,” she adds after a moment’s pause, knowing it’s something she’ll have to get out there. “You could’ve told me, Alex. If I’d known what was going on...” she trails off, unsure how to finish her sentence, and instead looks away from the other, cerulean hues focused on another art piece behind him.

Dakota looked down at the stack of paper in his hands, the words on the pages making very little sense to him. It had clearly been a while since anyone had walked into the guidance counselors office and asked about scholarship information, as the woman sitting on the other side of the desk had scrambled through drawers and mumbled nonsense at him while just handing him a packet that was supposedly supposed to help him. Still, there was no way Dakota was going to be able to attend any sort of four-year university without some sort of scholarship, even if financial aid went through. Exiting the office as confused as he was when he entered it, Dakota was ready to call it a day, go home, take a nap, and forget about the whole college thing for another week or so. That was, until he saw a familiar face in the hall. “Oh, hey. Haven’t seen much of you, lately,” he greeted.
dakota;
Sirena held a similar stack of papers in her hands, all forms about scholarships and financial aid handed to her without very much explanation. As if the guidance counselor didn’t actually know anything about the process, which wouldn’t surprise the girl. She doubted many people asked about it, considering the wealth of most of Weslyn’s population. At the sound of Dakota’s voice, however, she was drawn from her readings, gaze lifting to find the boy, a small smile replacing the frown that had creased her features. “Oh, hey Dakota,” she replied softly, reaching a hand up to run through her blue locks. She was never sure if she was annoying the boy or not, what with the way he’d suddenly ended their friendship years ago and hadn’t made it a point to talk to her since. “Well, it’s a busy time, what with college and all of this,” she gestured to the stack of papers in her hands. “Honestly, it’s all so confusing, I’m not sure I understand half of it.”
“Okay, but really, have you ever truly considered what must have been going on inside Sonia Delaunay’s mind during the war? When she’d escaped into Spain and left her home behind to focus on her craft?” Her words come out quick, voice filled with excitement as she stands before her piece at the school’s art exhibition, a dress designed to mimic those of the artist she’s discussing. “I can’t imagine all that was going through her mind, the stress, the turmoil — a traitor to her country, but eternally devoted to her craft.” She runs a hand through her hair, freshly dyed blue tresses falling through her fingers like silk. “Anyways, that’s who my inspiration was with this dress. There’s actually an exhibit about her at the Met right now, and I’m dying to see it.”
