Is anyone else ever reminded that other people are terrifying, that strangers could just see you and decide to end your life, that people have been murdered by others that they loved and trusted, that you could be nothing or everything to a person, and either one could kill you? How can anyone blame anyone for trust issues, when killing is so easy that it’s done on accident all the time? How is it that I know all this and still believe with all my heart that if I went to my best friend’s place rn or knocked on my parents bedroom door that they would make room for me on the bed and hold me close and I would be safe if only for a little while. How does faith in these people come so effortlessly and intensely when all the world screams that nothing is safe or sacred or trustworthy? Why do I trust? How am I more than my fear?
