The Brazilian GP may be left out of the Formula 1 calendar. This is because the contract between Formula 1 and Interlagos ends this year, unfortunately, due to the pandemic, we will not have the Brazilian GP this year. Liberty Media, which is the organizer of Formula 1, has some environmental proposals such as zeroing carbon by 2030, but wants to build a race track in Rio de Janeiro, in a place of Atlantic Forest, in Deodoro, as early as 2021, but not yet the license to build the racetrack came out and the work here in Brazil took a long time. We, Formula 1 fans here in Brazil, want Formula 1 to stay in Interlagos, because Interlagos is history for us Brazilians, we had great races in Interlagos, who doesn't remember Senna's incredible victory with a broken march in 1991? i just don't get this like why not invest in upgrading/renovating interlagos instead of building a new track and deforesting for it to even be built. the brazilian government has been doing this for years and it's honestly so sad to see. like i know most of the new built world cup stadiums (and probably the venues for the olympics) aren't being taken care of or used anymore and it's such a waste of money especially in a country known for poverty. i hope it gets better soon and they don't end up building this track. all my love to you all i really hope the plans fall through.
