NO WAR
Itβs not like anyone cares and itβs been 7 years or so but I thought that I donβt have any other platform to say these words and I must do it even if this makes very little impact because soon I wonβt have a chance - the internet is getting blocked more and more every day.
And because I left this blog for a reason that is very connected to whatβs happening right now.
Russian propaganda was feeding over 140 millions of its people that Ukraine was under nazis. I stopped watching any state media in 2016 and stopped working as a journalist then. Thatβs why I was caught completely off guard that so many people are brainwashed in my country.
If I go on the street now, holding a sign - any sign - no matter what will be written on it - I will be in jail. People at police stations get beaten up and raped. So those who are protesting are real heroes.
They banned the wordΒ βwarβ in Russia now - if you say itβs a war you can go to jail for 10 years probably. Couple of weeks ago they green lighted a law onΒ βfakes about Russian armyβ that can get you to jail for up to 15 years. They are blocking Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and all the opposition media are dead. We have almost no real information here.Β
This is the most horrible time in our history.
Weβve been fighting with fascism in 1941 and now weβre back to that year only now Russia is under that regime. That is unimaginable. I go on the street and see those signs Z and V that government paid to put everywhere and itβs like a nightmare.Β
Weβre been raised hating war, thinking itβs the most dreadful thing that can happen to the world. Everyone in Russia has grandads and grandmothers who were fighting nazis. Every family has this story - believe me.
And now young Russian men (most of them are brainwashed also or have no idea whatβs going on) are killing brotherly nation. And also dying for no fucking reason but for one manβs crazy idea to put ussr back together.
I just wanna say with all my heart - Iβm sorry to all Ukrainians and all the world.
My dad is Ukrainian and my mum is Russian. And many families are connected between those two countries.
People against war feel completely powerless now. I wish I could stop this madness but I donβt know how. Iβm crying over and over again for a month almost.
I left Tumblr because I felt everyone here hated Russians and Russia at that moment. And I know this time itβs even worse and it will continue for ages. But I accept this now. My country, thanks to itβs mad leader, made the biggest mistake in history. Weβre cancelled and itβs not gonna go away soon. But thatβs nothing compared to peoples lives and bombed cities. I wish we could turn back time. I still canβt believe this.
One last thing I wanna say to people in all the countries - always fight for the freedom of speech and for your democracy. Fight from the start before itβs too late. Itβs a treasure when you can speak openly and not be afraid that someone will come for you.
