We're back with this manga! Technically, Volume 7 releases on December 1, this chapter is scanlated off the magazine raws.

I'd mentioned releasing this chapter some time in November so I'm super relieved I could stick to that timeline (barely!). Initially I'd planned to work on Tengoku in the interim, but real life hit me like a ton of bricks and that schedule went out the window. But with things looking better on my end, I'll try to grind out the rest of the volume as & when I can.

And I'll try to release the volume 6 bonus papers in the near future.

Synopsis:

While travelling across Japan, Kitahara Minami is pushed off a boat by a beautiful woman he met for the first time. After managing to swim to an island, Minami comes across a bespectacled young man who pronounces, "You pass."

The young man, Yuunagi Tenma, is the owner (guard) of Paradise Isle and since Minami reached the island without dying, he qualifies to be hired. A stunned Minami is told by Yuunagi, “From this day forth, you shall be my manservant!”

So he starts working on the island alongside beastfolk, some of whom are part-dog, others part-bird.

One day Minami spies Yuunagi bathing in the sea at night. Yuunagi says it is a ritual to welcome 'guests' (customers). What exactly does Yuunagi mean by 'guest’, and what is the purpose of the island? Puzzled by all these mysteries, what will Minami do?!

And we’re off with another manga by Yamamoto Kotetsuko-sensei! Working on this project wouldn’t have been possible without Kana from Amaichudoku and her stellar cleaning skills. Mad props to her for flawlessly cleaning the tanko cover. She designed the credits page too!

Tengoku is a fairly interesting story but volume 1 is light on the romance. Most of sensei’s recent mangas have been about the slow burn, the only one I recall in which the MCs screw in the first few chapters is Honto Yajuu and that was, like, a decade ago. So don’t go expecting them to get it on right off the bat. From what I can tell, this is going to be another long-running, multi-volume manga; Minami and Yuunagi’s sweet moment of release may well be several, several chapters away.

I’m collaborating with the amazing people over at Amaichudoku for this project. I’ve talked a bit about Tengoku no Monban on my main blog: it’s another fantasy manga by Yamamoto Kotetsuko-sensei, featuring an isolated tropical island, fascinating beastfolk, supernatural phenomenon, a mysterious uke and an average Joe seme caught up in this mess and trying to make the best of his circumstances :D

The first chapter is completely cleaned and 50% translated. If things go according to plan, you’ll get to see it by next weekend!

I want to wrap up the first volume of Tengoku by December so we can seamlessly pivot to scanlating the new AwDd volume. It seems doable but... you never know. Wish us luck!

Better late than never! I know I’d promised to include the bonus papers with this, but I’m expecting to receive another short extra so I’ll bundle all those together for a mini release.

I’ll just take a moment here to lay out the schedule for this manga going forth.

I will try to release the bonus papers as soon as possible. Depends on how soon I receive the commemorative manga strip, the rest I can motor through.

Don't expect Chapter 31 before November. I'm trying to space out releases till Vol.07 comes out in December.

I buy digital and judging by last time, I'll be able to get the Volume 7 raws two days after the print release. We'll do our best to churn out chapters at a steady click after that.

Hi guys! Hope you're staying well and coping in this dumpster fire of a year. I'm aware we haven't had a proper release since July after releasing Chapter 30 with a promise for Volume 6 extras. I have no excuses as to why I've been unable to deliver on said promise. But here's an update:

Volume 6 extras: Completely cleaned. Translation and Typeset remain.

Thanks to the lovely @lennymillianti​ and @lolainthewaitingroom , you'll also be seeing some limited manga papers with the extras release.

In good news, Ashita wa Docchi da! Volume 7 will release on December 1, 2020! Yamamoto Kotetsuko-sensei made the announcement on Twitter yesterday.

*Rant begins*

The thing is, I recently found out that a Turkish group has been using my scans without permission for their releases. They even had the audacity to edit out the Simply Boys Love watermark from every single image. This, after I mentioned in my releases that people are free to retranslate as long as they use their own raws. Obviously, it put me in a very bad mood which consequently affects my motivation to work on this manga as well as general productiveness.

However, the releases will come. I personally have no intention to drop this manga now. But I'm not deluded enough to believe that I've absolute claim over it either. If there are those out there who just want to read whatever and do things on their own steam, you're welcome to it. I don't care, I'll be right here in my corner doing things my way: putting in the money, time and effort to deliver the best possible quality which this manga rightly deserves.

This strip is from Yamamoto Kotetsuko sensei’s Twitter. Sensei says Aki is actually quite tall. Ken and Ueda are about the same height, but Ueda’s physique is better than Ken’s.
