she can’t deny that her heart stumbles a bit at the words, and for a moment she can’t even believe she heard him correctly. ever since their... talk the other day, and the consequential fallout between them, she had never expected to hear or see from daehyun again. he had made it pretty damn clear how he felt about their situation when he walked away from her and the unborn child still forming inside her.

and yet... the immense relief and happiness that sweeps through her is undeniable. she had always hoped that if she had to raise a child it would have both its parents there to support it, and though she hadn’t been certain if that would happen with daehyun, she was glad for it. and truthfully, she was glad it was going to be him. once the words have finished processing, a wild smile spread across her face.

the question makes his skin crawl and the rhythm of his heart stutter, in the way one’s does when nervous. or perhaps the better word was ‘caught.’ not that he had anything to be guilty for. right ? unless of course he was being asked in a more subtle way about why he wasn’t committing to whatever was happening between them… then maybe the knot in his throat had an explanation after all.
