raaabbit keychains :3 !! hello! they’re very “craft-y”, with the rope... as the bells we used for this, were sliiightly too big 3: we’re thinking about creating “elaborate” keychains from these!! aka; one back foot / “lucky” foot (those on the left), plus a small one (on the right) attached to it! ooor perhaps, a ra.bbit tail on some of these? you can see one on the bottom left, and there are two others curing rn :3 !! and on these ornate keychains / charms (i guess?), we would add beads (probably) and (legal, no worries) feathers :3 quite probably chi.cken ones (as the very same friend who we harvested these rabbit paws and tails from, also has a chi.cken coop :3 !! heehee!) we will post pics of the completed keychains, whenever that comes around, hehe :3 (since our health issues are being dumb, once again...) we do not know how much we should sell these... waiting for everything to be ready, gotta buy more bells and epoxy and keychain rings 3: and also, we want to make sure that they don’t slip / lose hair in the mean time, heehee :3 ! as of now, we have two more “big” paws (or back paws) all cured, just waiting for bells... plus the aforementioned two tails (these, not on the pic heehee) ... now that I think about it, we have a few more uncured paws in the garage 3: i do hope that they are fine, and not... gross, heehee ouch 3: ... we entirely forgot about those?? host (Ren’) is thinking about selling one keychain (composed of, lucky foot + small foot + beads + chi.cken feathers) for like... 18CAD? to see :3 ! also, for bg transparency; yes, these come from meat ra.bbits! but we know their owner / breeder very well (for more than 10 years now), and we can assure you that those ra.bbits had a good life :3 ! we were there for the processing, too. we use their paws and tails here, so that nothing from these animals goes to waste :3 ! - zipher! Yo! Saw this huge feather when walking outside of my city, in a urban park :’D Me and a friend (the one who raises meat rabbits) went out there, and took nature / animals pics a bit mooore up north :’))) Flowers were just coming out, it was a nice time :’D! Yay! I took these two pictures of this (bird of prey) feather, which was absolutely huuuge btw! It looks much smaller here than it was IRL (due to my hand being at a downward angle lol) buuut I estimate (rough estimation, watch out) that it must’ve been about 30in long? I guess you can guess so, with the wooden seat’s planks just underneath in the pics :’)) The darker “upper half” on the first pic, btw, is because this feather was a bit wet from the surrounding grass, when I found it xwx It had not dried entirely for the pics, riiip :’(( I am guessing this is a turkey vulture feather :’33? My first thought was bald eagle tbqh - but upon research, I realized that the bright-ish stem colour + the silver underside, fit more turkey vulture than bald eagle LOL Either way, I never realized just how BIG feathers could be, up close like this... Am used to the city suburbs environments, where the biggest birds we can see (and where the biggest feathers I’ve ever personally been in contact with) are Cooper’s Hawks’ :’D hehe Anyways, saw this beauty today, was flabbergasted, and thought I would share :’)) lol - Aigle-Renard; iel / they.

Hey y’all! I don’t really know how to form my thoughts out into this post... But I’ll try :’P ! Buckle up, this will get long :’D ! Tbh, I am just ranting about life overall - and my passion towards VC (so feel free and comfortable to ignore this entire post :’D) lol Recently (maybe for almost a year now), I’ve been plagued with physical and mental health issues. Non-stop pains due to a body condition + deliberating anxiety, made me unable to work on pelts and VC things for a while. This made me question a ton of things, as a whole. Since my one and only Special Interest is VC, and I wasn’t able to have fun and indulge in it anymore... I had to take a honest break; hence, my disappearance from Tumblr :’P The final nail in the coffin was when I went to a friend’s place, a while back, to skin a few of her meat rabbits. I was very rusty (being in a non-supportive household, where I can’t train my VC competences as much as I want to), and my friend ended up doing most of the work. Ofc, this made me feel worthless, as I couldn’t bear the thought that I sucked this hard, at something that I love this much. I therefore inherited this taxidermy-level gray rabbit pelt, that me and my friend ended up skinning together. I brought it home. Tried to turn the ears all the way, it didn’t work. Was also too anxious to try and debone the paws, even just one per day y’know? Ended up salting this hide, which was half-done, and putting it away - in my basement’s garage. “Out of sight, out of mind”, y’know. A couple of months passed, where I didn’t do anything VC related. Finally, a month or two (or so) ago, I got pain medication, found out what my physical issue might be (we’re still not sure, but point is; I don’t have as much pain anymore). So, now that I have less of such pains and issues, and that uni is done and I’m less stressed out... And also, now that the sun is out and summer is coming along (upgrading my overall mood), I ended up realizing what was wrong. The real reason why VC things ended up exhausting me, and the reason why I froze when thinking of working this damn rabbit pelt, was my dumb perfectionism. I won’t go into details, but personal life and family stuff made me put up intense standards to achieve for myself, as soon as I (we) was (were) a young child. The pressure to succeed (whether by grades, or job stuff, or in my interests) is something that has plagued me forever. I gotta get to the top, and be the best. Otherwise, I’m not worth anything. That was how my early existence shaped me, and even today it’s hard to let go of those kinda things that I was taught, very young. But, anyways. Upon realizing that perfectionism of mine (and also thanks to social workers, and general therapy :’P), just recently too, I ended up going “.. Hey, you know what? I have the right to take my time, and make mistakes, and learn.” And really? I’m gonna take out that damn rabbit pelt from my garage, re-hydrate it, and do my best. I ordered some more tanning chemicals, I am gonna get mentally and physically ready - and then tackle this rabbit pelt, head on :’D ! If I succeed in doing everything I want, AND tanning it, down the line? Hey, good job, me!! And if I end up having to trash it... It sucks, and I’ll def feel guilty for the animal themself, but I’ll learn from the things that I did wrong with this pelt - so that, hopefully, the next fluffy one will be the right one :’))) I don’t... Really know why I needed to write such a thing tonight, tbqh haha But it feels good to get that one off my chest :’)) ! And y’know, if my story can resonate with someone else... Here is the new friend, that I’ve mentioned in my last post :’)) :’D!! He’s a polar fo.x that I got from someone close to my place, for a very cheap price! He was an absolute steal! He has the most dense and most fluffy-feeling fur I’ve ever touched?? His tanning is amazing, he’s super pliable and soft - gosh :’D! And tho he lacks part of his right ear (and I suspect that his left ear-tip was blown open, during the ear turning process), I don’t care :’D! He’s beautiful :’33! The seller was also very communicative, honest about this fo.x’s characteristics, and suuuper kind! :’D :’)) This furry child is extra huge, btw?? As big as my farm fo.xes! So either these polars are very big (up north, where they live), oooor he’s from a ranch :’D In the first pic, and (kinda) the second pic too, Moon-Tongue is next to him; tho there is perspective in play, you can already get a small idea of the sheer size difference between my two latest bbys :’D! I will take other pictures, when the sun’s up and out, and the lighting in my room is better! To show the size, and beauty of this new fo.x; as his fur is a wonderful mix of grayish-brown, usual brown, pastel-ish tints, and there is even some white :’D!! This fo.x shall be dubbed “Xavier” :’)) He gives me “he / him” vibes, and I can’t wait to learn more from him :’D! Stay tuned for the part 2 of Xavier’s pics :’D! :’))! More pictures of Moon / Moon-Tongue :’)) !! She’s a “Lavender” or “Lavender Pastel” fo.x morph; probs very old, as she is the size of a wild red despite being a morph. Therefore, very small! I got her second-hand, and there is a stamp on the leather side showing where she was tanned; a company from Western Canada, that started in 1901 and is still in action :’)) ! So there is no true way for me to date Moon - but since ranch fo.xes become bigger the more recent they are (with selective breeding for fur)... Moon must be quite old, as like mentioned, she is very small :’D! Her tail is also like a shooting star, imo; a beautiful gradient of brown-ish silver to light silver :’D!! hehe Stay tuned for more, next time :’33! - Aigle-Renard(e). Pronouns; iel or they.

Here are the next following pictures of Derek :’)) ! It has been dark and raining outside, for about four days straight now - my apologies for the weird photo colours; light was less than optimal in my room, and I had to manually up the pictures’ brightness with my computer’s program :’33 Aaand I’m not good at doing that, haha. I tried to show his weird neck brindle-ing (visible in the first and fourth pictures); it’s almost reminiscent of a non-existent ”faint ringneck”, but his dark back stripe cuts through it. The strange brindle-ing marking is also only on his neck - the rest of his body is about what you’d expect from a silver :’O I only just realized, upon moving him around for these pictures, that he has an asymmetrical white throat patch, with his chest fading back to his original dark silver, and then to gray and white on his belly (second and third picture) :’33!  I also only noticed how worn out his - cute - white claws are (fifth picture). Not sure if they got cut (so that they wouldn’t get caught in fabric and other clothing), or if they were naturally like this at the moment of his death. Finally, last image is his little patched eye. Easily the darkest of the pictures when I took them, so you don’t see much... Should really re-do another photoshoot session when it’s sunny and bright, out there :’D! But yes, his eye repair gives him quite the wise look! Screams “I’ve lived through decades and have seen a lot” which is very nice :’33! So, there you go!! Derek has easily become one of my favourite pelts to work with; he has so much background and personality, as well as all of those little traits that makes him really stand out :’D!! A few little (and hastily taken) pictures of Derek, my new vintage fox :’D!! Gosh, I have not bought myself a new pelt since... Like, a while ago lol. He’s a silver whiteface from the 40s; he sports (absolutely adorable) white paws, silver brindle-ing on his neck, and a narrow muzzle marking! He has a small repair stitch, close to his left eye too :’33! It gives him some charm, I think; and he also has the best friendly vibes from all of my pelts ^w^ !! Ever since I saw his pictures (before buying him), I knew that he would bring a much needed positive presence in my life, hehe! My apologies for not being very active in the past months; between my final bachelor semester, and serious physical health issues, I’ve not had the spoons to do much ;w; ! I will take more in-depth pictures of sweet ol’ Derek, in the following days :’D!! Hello there, VC community :’D! We need identification help! We found this mummified animal part in our park, and we’re beyond stumped at what it could be. It seems to be a bird leg, since fluffy white / grey feathers were attached to it (seen in the third and fourth image); and with the way the knee bends, it screams “bird” to us. However, the little... Thumb? Or the small talon, seen in the first two pictures, is throwing us off. It might just be twisted due to the decomposition / mummifying process, but it doesn’t look like any bird feet that we’re ever seen :’O! So we might be super wrong about this being a bird leg... There are three sockets for main fingers btw, one of the digits is simply missing - we couldn’t find it around the immediate area. If it is indeed a bird, we would like to know what kind it is. No need for a species, but more like a pull towards a kind of bird; corvid, bird of prey, seagull? Etc. For reference, I guess for the leg feather (in the last picture) to be less than a centimeter long; the leg itself is guessed to be more than 15 centimeters long, give or take. It is, at least, as long as my whole hand + part of my wrist. Thank you all for the potential help! We would really like to know who this belonged to :’D!

More pictures of Oscar (my tentatively identified “Autumn Fire” farm fo.x), compared to my wild red fo.xes :’D I think I finally managed to truly show the muted / caramel shades of Oscar, compared to the golden / different kinds of red tints in my wild red fo.xes. Pictures 1-2-3; Oscar compared in size, and overall shade / markings, to my three wild reds. Pictures 4 and 5; tints and markings differences between Oscar’s, and my wild reds’, faces. He’s a lot lighter in markings, the base colour much paler - and dominated with something akin to the Fire Factor / Fire Gene. Pictures 6 and 7; close-ups of the fur colour, to show the difference in tint between Oscar and one of the wild reds. In both pics, the neck fur colour - and back stripe marking - are what’s visible :’D Pictures 8 and 9; close-up of the head and ear areas, first of Oscar and then of one of my reds. More differences; it is very visible here that the black markings are diluted / amber / light brown on Oscar, while the red shades of the fur is instead much fainter; more light brown and light caramel. I know I'm probably annoying with all those recent pictures of Oscar, haha - but I love him a lot :’D He’s a wonderful friend, and I like showing him C’: ! Also, I do think this is the first time that I’ve ever showed Oscar next to my wild red fo.xes... As you can guess, fo.xes are one of my favourite animals ever - and one of my favourite pelts to collect, due to the sheer amount of morphs (and even due to the sheer amount of differences between similar-ish individuals - like on my three reds visible here C’: !) More pictures of my new fa.rm fo.x pelt :D! Trying to get the perfect kind of daylight, to truly showcase its strange muted colours. I don’t think I got there quite yet today either, sadly... I’ve looked online at fo.x morphs, and my pelt is most similar to an Autumn Fire; however, the biggest difference between the Autumn Fire fo.xes and my pelt, is the dark brown cross on my fo.x’s back. However, the muted colours, the Fire Factor / Fire Gene effect (mostly on the face and haunches) and the black being replaced by pale or gray-ish brown / amber, seem to point towards this being an Autumn Fire or related to one in some way... Maybe? However, if anyone on this website is knowledgeable in fo.x morphs, then I would appreciate the help in identifying my new child’s morph :’D! We’re not used to identifying morphs, there are so many of them... I’m waiting for our mother to stitch the big hole in its left flank, before doing a real communing session with it. As of now, I don’t have any vibes from it, but hopefully this new friend is just a bit shy! Once I commune with them, I’ll ask them for their preferred name - that’s what I try to do for all of my pelts, when I have the energy :’D - Sylv; he/they.

Long time no see :’D! We were busy with university, and... Mental illness predicaments. But now we’re back! We should be posting a bit more often, now that stuff is better IRL! Here are the majority of the pelts that we bought in the last year. - A rac.co.on d.og. - An eas.te.rn wh.ite sku.nk. - A fa.rm fo.x, beautiful unknown morph that we didn’t have before! The rac.co.on d.og was a holy grail pelt of ours, and tho it had some minor slippage of the tail tip upon receiving it, it’s the first one we’ve bought and we’ll cherish it! The eas.te.rn wh.ite sku.nk was something we also wanted; there is a sku.nk just like this that can be seen around in our home area, from time to time. They are very pretty, and we wanted a pelt similar to theirs, to be reminded of their presence :’D! Finally, our fa.rm fo.x, our favourite. We have just received it a few days ago; we’ve never seen a fa.rm fo.x with this pelt colour, so if anyone more knowledgeable could identify the morph, we would be very grateful :’3! It’s overall a very pale brown and orange mix (the first picture is quite a bit too saturated for some reason, to truly make their pelt colour truthful to reality / in-person sight) and the fur has a lot of silver guard hairs. The ears are almost... Pale brown / grayish-blue in tint? We have an older book about fo.x morphs (and a more recent one with even more fo.x morphs), but this one isn’t in either of them. The only thing we know is that this particular pelt comes from Europe. We will post more pics of it, after our mom ends up stitching the big hole in its flank. Should be not too hard for her, as she’s fixed Vee (another fo.x of ours)’s face earlier this year :’D! As a disclaimer (don’t think it’s needed, but putting it here regardless), I’m a Death Worker and I use these animal remains with a lot of respect. They’re not part of a collection for me; they’re friends and guides, and I cherish them more than anything else. Long time no see :’D! We apologize for the lack of new updates, school has been making us quite busy (and also depression has been A Thing for me recently, oof) We just got a new friend! Meet Vee, the Cr.oss (?) Fo.x! We bought them from a Vulture in Quebec, who himself got them for cheap, as they weren’t good enough quality for the fur industry. Our Vulture friend wanted them to have a good home, and not to simply be discarded - and so, we decided to give Vee some love :’3! From what we know, Vee has some of their winter coat still on (seen in some of the pictures) giving them a washed out/pale brown appearance in places. Might be why their fur is quite frizzy (is that the correct term?) on their lower back, too! Half their tail is also missing, either got damaged during the skinning/tanning, or cut off for other uses. For us, this doesn’t make them worth less; it makes them unique, and we really love every little quirk they have! Their name got chosen due to their eyes and forehead being ripped slightly in a V shape, originally. Our mother has sewn their face back in one piece, and the stitches are barely visible :’)) ! Thank you, mom! We also bought a brown mi.nk pelt a few months ago, we’ll try to find the time to post pictures of ‘em too! Thank you for tuning in with us :’D!
