I've tried my best to get some space from my family but why am I not surprised to find my sister, the more annoying one at that, banging at my door? Soledad or Sol, as we like to call her, does her best to keep the family together, most of us, at least.

She means well, she always does, and honestly outside of mama no other person has done more for me than this woman...but annoying is annoying and there is just something about her that irks me despite how much I love her as a sister.

"Sol!?" I open the door and am already met with that concerned look of hers. "You could have called?"

"Nayara, I'm your sister! I just wanted to check how you're doing and check out your new place? Do you have a guy over or something?"

I laughed at that. "If you're worried about men you should be seeing our younger sister," I say to Nayara's smile because she's holding back a laugh. I do love Idalia but she umm, well, she gets around.

🎨: I went to check on Neddy after I got the girls to bed. When I sat on the side of the bed, my weight forced it to dip, and she opened her beautiful blue eyes and smiled at me. It stole the breath from my chest.

Yeah, she’s definitely going to have issues but I also know she’ll stumble and fumble into the right situation. The Watcher Herself must have a soft spot for her because she seems to never run out of good luck.

It’s my other sister I worry about, Nayara. She’s also moved north, to the United Sim States, but unlike Idalia, Naryar has mastered Simlish. She’s always been the smart one which makes me wonder how she makes some of the worst life decisions.

Though, I suppose I should be too harsh of a judge, it’s not like my own life is much to brag about right now.

Well, it looks like it’s me. I’m the sister that couldn’t do without family. The one who couldn’t move too far away. The one who had to stay close to home.

Soledad.

Did I draw the short straw or the long one? With my family, it’s hard to say.

Papa has become something of a disgrace. He’s distant, unreliable, and doing whatever it is he does. As for mama? She’s done so much for all of us that it’s hard to ask more of her.

So that leaves me.

I’m here for her. She needs one of us to stay behind, to be there for her when she gets older and needs help. I’d ask the same of my own kids someday, after all, we all need someone to lean on, but that’s all in the future.

Right now, I need to worry about finding a job, because if I don’t, I won’t even be able to take care of myself, let alone also taking care of mama.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much out there for me job wise.

After one week of beach holiday, I went to the countryside to my grandma. Actually, everything was planned differently. My son and I wanted to spend the rest of the summer holidays here with Sonja and her kids. But unfortunately, Sonja's two little boys got sick. That's why I was now alone and my little one spent two more weeks at the beach with my Mom & Dad.

When I arrived, my Grandma seemed kind of stressed.

She told me that she had to leave. Her brother got sick. His wife had died, which is why he was alone and needed my grandma's help. My grandma didn't know what do now?? She knew how anxious I was and that I would feel uncomfortable here in the house at night all by myself.... Anyway, I didn't want to cry or panic like a baby, so I told her I'd be fine.

Besides, I wasn't really alone. My grandma got a dog. His name's Rocky. The dog belonged to a neighbor who died. No one wanted to take care of their dog. There were difficulties with him at the animal shelter. But my Grandma wanted to save him, so she adopted Rocky. His previous owner treated him like a watch dog and he was never allowed to enter the house. We had to be very patient and careful with him. But meanwhile, he learned to trust my grandma. Before she left, she introduced me to him and showed me how to take care of Rocky. All I had to do was fill his food bowl and make sure he had water. I was so excited. I wanted to do everything I could to make Rocky trust me too.

Ngl, the first time I saw him staring and barking at me, I chickened out! Rocky's a big dog, his fur pitch black and his eyes kind of yellow-orange, like a demon, you know? 😬 So now I could understand why no one at the shelter could handle him.

Later that evening, my grandma said goodbye to me. I could see how worried she was. But I assured her everything would be fine.

An hour after she left, it slowly became dark. I was in the bathroom. Everything was fine until I suddenly heard strange noises coming from Sonja's room. I felt like I heard footsteps. I realized this used to be my late uncle's room. While I was getting dressed, I panicked.

I just headed down the stairs and left the house! I took a deep breath and slowly exhaled. I repeated this a few times until I felt better. I told myself I'm safe here, my uncle would never want to scare me. And IF, his spirit is really here, he certainly has no evil intentions.

Outside I saw Rocky. I ran to him and tried to lure him into the house. "We can be friends, I don't mean any harm", I said to a dog. 😅 As if he could understand me.

Well, I don't think he wanted to follow me in. On the contrary, he barked at me until I was back in my grandma's house. 😔

Anyway, I hid back in my room and tried to fall asleep. I was thinking about my baby. I wondered what he was doing right now? I missed my son sm. Maybe this wasn't a good idea to come here alone?
