I’m having a little revamp in my feminist film club, The Cinematic Time Machine and I thought now’s a great time to have a little deal.

There’s a brand new website coming soon with our own private forums, I’ll be restructuring things & I want to try out the idea of a closed membership next year. So from January you’ll only be able to join a few times a year and it will be back up to £7/70.

Gangster Season in the Cinematic Time Machine feminist Film Club ends this month with ‘Ball of Fire’ (1941). If you’ve had your eye on the club, this is the month to join because this is a delight of a movie. It’s the live action gangster remake of Snow White you didn’t know you needed in your life.

It’s the annual Comfort Collab, hosted by the lovely @veg_out_recipes, & this year it’s all about pairing a comforting movie with a cocktail.

My pick is the star-studded movie #StageDoor (1937) because it represents friendship goals to me.

Set in a New York boarding house, it stars Katharine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, Lucille Ball, Eve Arden, Gail Patrick, Andrea Leeds and Ann Miller as performers aspiring to a broadway career, and tells a tale of rivalry, despair, hope and friendship. Ginger Rogers drunk dealing with a s*x pest is pure gold and the ending may well bring a tear to your eye.
