The WAMPAS Baby Stars were a group of young, rising actresses that were chosen each year between 1922 and 1934 by the Western Association of Motion Picture Advertisers, a committee made up of Hollywood studio publicists and press representatives. The promotional campaign aimed to spotlight starlets believed to be on the threshold of major movie stardom. Pictured above is the selected group from 1933. Of the fifteen chosen that year, it was Ginger Rogers (top row, fourth from the right) who would have the most successful career.
