I keep saying I'm going to make promo posts for Silver & Iron and I really... really will...! I promise! SO ☝️

Reflecting on what made me more likely to start reading a webcomic, I realised that reading other people's recommendations was a big factor.

Therefore! if YOU 🫵 would recommend Silver & Iron to a friend, I'd love to hear why/what you'd tell them! (Edit: Preferably in a quotable format!)

The answer to which is that - surprisingly to myself even - I have planned out THE WHOLE THING!

I definitely did not have an idea of where I wanted the story to go when I started, but I do now! I have an overarching end point I want the story to reach, as well as multiple narrative and character arcs I want to hit within that story.

It's incredibly exciting, and motivating; just the other day I had an "aha!" moment where some key points clicked into place to connect with earlier plot points and further underscore the themes & relationships in the story, and I was sitting there like GODDDD I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THEERREEE. But because I know exactly how much work is needed to get there, and it can also be kind of daunting, looking up at this massive mountain I'm signing myself up to climb.

But I'm enjoying myself and can't wait to take you on the journey too! I know the story may continue to develop and change as I work on it (in fact, I expect it to; one of the things I'm enjoying most about this project is how I'm able to experiment and grow with it as an artist) and I don't want to try and predict or over-promise, BUT I do want to assure you that this comic's narrative, themes, and character relationships are heading towards a definitive, intentional end goal.

This is actually very funny and sweet though because I really do think Maddoc and Lake get to a point (relatively quickly in fact) where they get along really well! They're close in age - alarming for Ashley to realise - so they have similar references, and they even have some stuff in common to talk about, like certain video games. But also, more specifically, Maddoc is really really good at giving gifts, so I could absolutely imagine a scenario where Lake wants to get Ashley a birthday or even an anniversary gift and asks Maddoc for his advice/input.
