Once the grapevine kicks in and starts growing... it does so very quickly. I'm excited to see the canopy grapevine when it fills in. The grapes will hang over our heads. The pottery mentioned is pieces that my daughter made for me a few years back. Their purpose is to serve as bird houses. Already 10 years ago... these shots fron January of 2012. Originally met Janiece back in the early 2000s when she would go to clubshoots at local parks. Just as cute as could be, she was a regular favorite of all the photographers there. On these pics, she's a mom of two daughters, and no longer actively modeling. But we got together and I was very happy to see her again. Budget bass modified! This Squire Bass is Fender's budget bass... but I took it and modified it to make it better. Added a neck pickup and pot to control. I also changed the pick guard from white. I'm pleased with the results. Taking you WAY back on this one... a picture of my father standing next to his father. This was a photo that Dad carried in his wallet. When he gave it to me, it was in bad shape... cracks, tears and missing spots that just wore away. I had to fill in and in some spots, recreate what used to be there. I used to play in a band many years ago... when I moved to Southern California and took up photography as a hobby and worked with models, it’s seemed like a cool idea to pose my guitars with models.  I know... it’s been done, but I like it, and that’s all that matters to me.  Later, I started building guitars and posed them with models as well.

Since my wife was involved in theatre, I also photographed a few plays.  Theatre was a challenge due to the lighting... and I couldn’t use flash during performances.  These images also happen to have my son in them... his one time venture into a bit of acting.

Just to have a different experience, I asked if I could shoot a wedding (wife’s cousin) even though they had already hired a photographer.  Since I was the second shooter and not getting the subjects’ attention, and while also trying to stay out of the way, a lot of my shots were candids.  They were at least from a different angle... like with the tossing of the flowers.  I still got so good images, and in fact, they ended up using the kissing image shown here to enlarge and frame for their home.
