Semblance: Farsight - able to see in great detail anything she can focus on, regardless of distances. Coupled with her training to track/hunt down targets

Weapons: Ranger - A revolver rifle that turns into a pistol, or a pair of cavalry sabers, regularly stored in pistol form on her hip from the bandolier

Just a simple country girl out here working her way through the world.

A run away from a Mistral orphanage where she was about to be sold to operations unknown, she joined up with a travelling band of outlaws. She learned to use her semblance to help track and hunt down their quarries. Eventually, she decided to go to get more training, and part from the criminal activities, so she applied to Beacon and to her surprise was accepted.

Annie Oakley Human Female Beacon Student

Hair: Black and curly

Eyes: Emerald Green

Expression: Solemn and just shy of stern

Clothing: green pleated battle skirt, dyed green leather gloves, brown broad rimmed cowboy hat

Semblance: Trick Shot - able to manipulate the flight of ammunition she infused with her aura before launching.

Weapons: lever action rifle that converts into a hatchet.

Gear: Storage box of medals kept hidden normally.

Annie has been a prodigy of shooting competitions and displays for many years before announcing that she was going to apply to the huntsmen academy to further her training.

Atlas born Annie left her upper class Atlas family to join the trick shooting circuit. She changed her last name to solidify her departure from them, and never looked back. Her “uncle” James is furious that she left Atlas to go to Beacon, instead of joining his academy. Her parents were underlings to Ironwood until they had to retire, and take over the family arms manufactury for the Atlas military.

Navy Crocker Human Male Beacon Student

Semblance: Inspiration - Able to enhance the abilities of his allies by making a speech

Weapons: Forager - bolt action long rifle, with a knife and hatchet in the stock.

Navy comes from the wilds of Vacuo with only what he could carry and nothing else.

Navy is the only survivor of a settlement that was overrun by Grimm, as he was out hunting and foraging at the time. After putting the others to rest, he finds a letter from the captain of the huntsmen of the village that talked of sending Navy to train at an academy named Beacon to improve his skills, and bring that talent back to the village. He filled out and submitted the application before heading to catch a ship to go to Vale, if not Beacon itself. He got his acceptance shortly after he landed in Vale.

Jaune Henna Human Male Beacon Student

Hair: Dark Black hair, 

Eyes: Dark brown eyes

Expression: Solemn and serious

Clothing: Thick work boots, blue jeans, suspenders over a reddish shirt that has two buttons near the collar

Semblance: Boosting - at the cost of his health, he can increase his physical strength and endurance to continue on long after most others would exhaust themselves

Weapons: Twin large head hammers which can merge into a larger mallet. The shafts can launch what looks like rail spikes.

Gear: A single bolt kept on a string around his neck.

Jaune Henna is a young man of great strength, having worked his way up in a mining town isolated from other parts of Vale until he and his team made a railway to the main line.

He and his group of teenagers were assigned to work with a machine that was supposed to build the line in record time, but kept breaking, going off course, and otherwise stagnating progress, he took it on himself to build the line himself when the machine blew itself up. The others followed him, laying down the ties and steel, while he hammered the way through the mountain, and then went back to drive in stakes. The bolt around his neck is the only piece of the machine that didn’t melt into slag and get disposed of.

Amber “Windwagon” Smith Human Female Beacon Student

Hair: Short black hair pixie cut

Eyes: Brown

Expression: Confident and cheerful

Clothing: Red uniform jacket with golden shoulder trim, white pants, red seaboots

Semblance: Forecast - able to read the weather and winds for 24 hours ahead of time of any area that she can see and picture in her head.

Weapons: Navy saber, and an unnamed hand cannon.

Gear: Collapsable wagon with a windsail on top, and deployable wings.

Amber comes from an Atlas military family, and is looking to expand her knowledge.

Amber is considered the black sheep of the family for not wanting to join the Atlas military, after having seen how it has fallen under the leadership of James Ironwood. She is looking to set up herself independent of Atlas and hopes that one day her family will understand why she could not serve under Ironwood. Hopes that one day they may undisown her.

Reed Moore (Lone Ranger) Human Male Beacon Student

Unclear. Believed to be a Huntsman’s apprentice who just sort of signed up at the Academy one day.

His brother’s apprentice, he managed to barely survive the ambush that a gang of thieves had arranged for them thanks to being found by Tonto (Coyote Faunus), a survivalist who saved his life and taught him further, as they hunted down the gang to bring them to justice. Eventually, Tonto persuaded him to go to a Huntsman academy to further hone his skills.

Semblance: Enlarge - Able to grow three times the size of ordinary men with the equivalent power and strength to match anything he’s holding or wearing grows with him

After his distant cousin Adam became a member of the White Fang, he had thought that he would be helping others, but after hearing a lot of things, he kept rethinking how his cousin had treated others before going into the dust mines, and suspected that he was not as good as he remembers. He doesn’t want to, but if he finds Adam, he may have to restore the family honor by confronting the disgraced cousin. Came to Beacon to learn more, and gather information.

Windy Deerling Human Female Beacon Student

Clothing: A practical blue dress with a belt.

Semblance: Happy Thoughts - She can fly!

Weapons: Long-Nine, a hand cannon

Gear: a small dagger she says was given to her as a gift.

A rather mundane life of a normal girl from Vale. The only really interesting thing about her is that Professor Belle Tinker seems to know her, and the fact that she and her brothers had disappeared for a couple months and never explained what had happened.

Their disappearance was them going to a magical land called Neverland, at the behest of its technical ruler Piper Pan, with whom Windy shares an emotional connection. She also discovered her power of Flight when Professor Belle Tinker, who had been living there at the time, had nearly gotten her killed. Professor Tinker is very embarrassed and will never acknowledge this happened if she can avoid it. Windy uses this fact to mess with the professor. Occasionally, Piper comes to visit and the two girls just fly around for a bit at night and catch up.

Expression: Generally annoyed 

Clothing: White dress shirt, black combat skirt, hair tied up with a bow resembling rabbit ears

Semblance: Cheshire - Can vanish from sight at will and appear elsewhere, essentially fading in and out of where she is and will be

Weapons: Cutting Deck - A set of throwing blades in the shape of playing cards, she will often make a cheeky quip when asked where she got them from.

Gear: The case she keeps the cards in and a knife that very strongly resembles an enlarged butcher’s knife. An oversized pocket watch with a rabbit carved into the front cover.

A quiet girl who generally keeps to herself, not much is clear about her, but she passed the written exam for entry, so she was welcomed to Beacon.

An escapee from an Atlesian mental asylum, she has been to a magical realm and came out different when she was a child. Further adventures into that place have left her changed, for better and for worse. She applied to Beacon as a cover and as a means of getting further training.

Dotty Gale Human Female Beacon Student

Hair: Blonde

Eyes: Blue

Expression: Generally cheerful

Clothing: Gingham combat skirt with a white shirt and gingham coat, bright silvery boots with ruby red spurs

Semblance: Falling Out - can seemingly vanish from sight in the blink of an eye and be found somewhere else. Anyone who sees her describes it as if she were falling and then disappeared.

Weapons: Princess’s Promise - An ax that converts into a rifle. The blade appears to be nickel-plated and the handle/stock  has a lion’s face carved onto one side, and what appears to be straw carved on the other.

Gear: Reinforced pink sunbonnet, ostentatious belt she’s never seen without.

Princess Dorothy Gale of Oz, formerly of Kansas. She was curious about this new land that Glynda had wandered off to. She’s still in contact with Princess Ozma and their other friends and could leave whenever she wants, but is both eager to learn and is waiting to see when Glinda finally cracks and actively acknowledges why she knows “Dotty.”

Sierra Willow Human female Beacon Student

Hair: Long dark brown hair

Eyes: Hazel eyes

Expression: A serious expression, focused and determined.

Clothing: Brown shoes, blue jeans, white long sleeved button up shirt, golden looking armored waistcoat with darker filigree swirling over the top usually left open in the front.

Semblance: True sight - able to see through illusions and manipulations of others, also able to see the aura of others as light around their bodies.

Extra ability: Owl form - able to shift into the form of a small brown owl

Weapons: Lancer - a shotgun that turns into a lance, and shield that can mount either. Also turns into a longsword.

Gear: A clear crystal sphere on a necklace with no visible mounting. Single brown owl feather cluster behind her right ear.
