Hi, how many days do you spend on animations and art? I also love Minecraft story mode , my favorite characters are Petra and Romeo, and yes, when the couple with Petra and Jesse
It can depend on how big the project is. Sometimes my work, both 3D and 2D, only takes 2-5 hours. Sometimes it takes 2 days or 4. Other times it has taken weeks. None of this is counting rendering times when it comes to my 3D works, but it does count compiling and in-post editing times.
For example, my "As I Decay" animation took around 3 days for 46 seconds.
My most recent "Bang Bang Bang" one took maybe 7 hours or so.
My "Let's go" took 1-2 days (unsure).
My "razor.deep" AMV, I'm not sure of, but I think it would've taken 4 days to animate all the scenes, add lighting and compositing and finally in-post editing. It is 2:04 minutes long.
My 2D art definitely takes less time, but still has the same amount of effort. It's just quicker to draw on a 2D canvas than to spend 30 minutes tweaking things and doing passes over 3D animations, as well as lighting things and doing post editing.
My "Death is Misunderstood" art piece, which I am most proud of, only took 7 hours total, with a 1-day break.
My most recent Petra art piece took 8 hours, including the 3 different fully rendered versions.
Some of my 2D works have only taken an hour or two.
It takes a lot of work... but I'd have it no other way. For me, making art is about the process and less about the final product. I strive to create a good, high-quality final product, yes, and that is my end goal, but my first priority is to just have fun with it during the whole process. Seeing everything come to life during the process as I work tirelessly for hours upon hours upon hours, amounting to days, is so fun and rewarding to notice the improvements I make. People don't notice the improvements since they're not me, but I notice mine all the time.
Plus, being able to endure hours, days, or weeks of just working on scenes, editing, and stuff, just because it's FUN is a really good skill to have that a lot of people nowadays don't have... (glaring at the AI sloppists rn.)
I think more people should indulge in spending hours to days to weeks, working on things... It really teaches you something special.
