I guess they were right when they said that the clothes make the man, because your master is nothing but an old unoriginal trope of a cold possessive man. Frozwn over the years, never developed, never changes. Everything about him is colorless and sad. you two fit each other.

And like you, he was out of fashion ten years ago.

-Women could inherit property

-Lilly and the rest of her sisters happily lived out their days in the country manor.

-until someone (Rikkard) came along looking to buy it

-the Lambrose property war has begun

-She becomes a businesswoman to spite him

-Buys up all the properties that he has an eye on just to spite him even more

-They compete business wise with each other like crazy

-They eventually merge their businesses and end up with…

Sure, in her opinion, she had considerably a lot more to be grateful for than others. But that didn’t discredit her own share of struggles.

The year was 1932 and the Great Slump plundered England for its little remaining worth, originating from the United States a few years back and rippling outward devastatingly, tearing apart people’s lives and society on a global scale. Prior to the Slump, England was rather worse for wear– the Great War had ravaged the country and its citizens, and recovery was hindered through the raise of the exchange rate from the gold standard. Unemployment was at an all time high, with several million people jobless and even more barely managing to make ends meet with the increase in both taxes and pay cuts.

Lilly had experienced these effects firsthand from the start of her life. Her father had been conscripted into the Great War when she was merely two years old, leaving behind five daughters and a heavily pregnant wife by joining the dreaded frontlines. News of his death reached them six months before the war ended and six months later, her mother had passed away. Tuberculosis, was what the doctor had said the cause was, but Lilly suspected it was ultimately heartbreak– losing the will to move on from a love proved by the very existence of her and her siblings. The Great War might have ended the same day her mother died but upon looking back, Lilly felt like she had been plunged into another.

I wrote some lambrose smut i hope you enjoy (warning nsfw):

I want Rikkard to slip up when Lilly is going on a rant of something funny that makes even Karim try to hide his laughter by coughing.

I want it to start by him holding his hand over his mouth, turning away until he slips up and laughs.

Not ‘chuckles’ but full out ‘snorting’ kind of laughter. Give me happy and smiling Ambrose who’s eyes crinkle and gripping sides because they hurt from laughing kind of happiness.

Lilly stands there, awestruck (so is Karim) and Rikkard is scared for a second, he tries to stop himself from laughing because god forbid the same thing happens again (cue tragic memory of last time he laughed and then never did again). Until she starts laughing too, laughter is contagious after all.

And then Rikkard is startled. Because Lilly is gorgeous when she laughs.
