and here’s the thing about sigyn being constancy.
you know how everyone has variants in the different universes? well, what if hers isn’t a variant? what if it’s just her? the same her in every universe where she exists.
and obviously her relationship with whatever Loki variant would be different — some romantic still ( looking at you sylvie ), some platonic, or even familial. but in the end it’s still just her. same face, same soul, same everything.
which leads me into the idea that all of her “variants” are connected in some way. and when she has a vision/sees something, sometimes she can’t tell if it is something from her universe or a different one. which is one of the many reasons she doesn’t tell people what she sees.

THE CREATURE BREATHES A HEAVY SIGH OF RELIEF — there is nothing but good nature emanating from her person. Any FEAR that she may harm him that lingered, now dissipates like MORNING DEW. There is a safety to her presence that he has only known once before, in ELIZABETH. And he reaches for it, with the cords his incessant heart seeking their longing tendrils in her direction. It takes him a moment, but EVENTUALLY he releases her hand, and is able to then fully focus upon her words.
❛ Find one ?? ❜ he repeats, with another CANT of his head, ❛ where ?? ❜ he knows that names are not things to FORAGE, nor to just pluck from the leaves of trees. Yet how does one CHOOSE a name ?? How do they know if it is fitting !? Fathers and mothers, they choose for their offspring, and the CHILDREN know it from a young age. A gift he was never given. How then . . . Does he find one ?? The magnitude of these QUESTIONS are not voiced, as he does not yet know how to articulate them. But they cross BEHIND the inquisitive widening of his eyes, the furrow of his brow - line as he contemplates.
Her voice pulls him FORTH from the void of unshared thoughts, when the mushrooms are offered. He cannot deny his EAGERNESS to reach for one, for all of his immense hunger !! But he HESITATES, until she utters another word that has tattooed itself upon his heart. ❛ FRIEND . . . I am — your friend ?? ❜ Doe - eyes sparkle with curious adoration, and only then does he feel SAFE enough to reach for a mushroom. Despite his desperation, it’s plucked DELICATELY from the basket, and placed between his lips. ❛ a feast ?? You live . . . Here, in the trees ?? ❜
❝ Oh, there are many places we might find one. Books & stories are often inspiration. ❞ She does not voice that many names are FAMILIAL in tradition; mothers and fathers naming children after grandparents, and so on. Clearly that will not be HIS case. Still, it is not enough to DISCOURAGE her. A name is important, whether chosen of given & she is determined to help him find one that is just the right fit.
Sigyn stares into those mismatched WANTON eyes again. Her head CANTS similarly; her body unconsciously mimicking his movements. ❝ Of course we are! ❞ Finally, no longer caring to keep herself dry & out of the snow, she sits down in front of him. Perhaps it is FOOLISH to jump so quickly into friendship when she had just met the man; Sigyn had never been one to question her INSTINCTS. & those instincts are telling ( screaming really ) that this stranger is someone important.
❝ And, well… I live among the trees in a way. My home is not far from here. ❞ It was naught more than a small, MODEST cottage, nothing sprawling or grand; but it has all she needs. A WARM hearth, a garden in the spring & a soft bed to rest. ❝ It’s a bit small, but warm. Do not worry. ❞
Relief SOFTENS her smile when he finally takes the mushroom & begins to eat. Her gift being received WARMS her heart. ❝ Do you like the mushrooms? I’m not particularly fond of this kind, though they are quite good in stew. Stew would be nice tonight, with the chill in the air. What do you think? Does that sound nice? ❞
