any chance you’ll be hosting a panel at AWA this year? my friend and i saw your unpacking katsuki panel in 2024 and we genuinely talk about it all the time to this day. we didnt see you on the schedule last year but this year…. if its a possibility for you to present, i just want you to know there is INTEREST and it is ME!!
I’m honored that my Bakugo panel held your interest and you liked it that much. Thank you so much for coming and letting me know how much you liked it.
Of the BNHA panels I did, Katsuki Bakugo’s was consistently the least popular (the Shigaraki, Todoroki family, and Kirishima ones consistently filled rooms - The Todoroki family had a line of folks waiting at the door, which was genuinely surprising to me) despite also having the most information packed in there. As of 2024, I stopped pitching the BNHA panels because I felt like they were played out and because I genuinely wanted to scream whenever someone likened Izuku to someone with disabilities or racial stigma when I’m trying to talk about the series’ intentions for quirks in society. Izuku is someone with a poorly defined sense of individuality or individual talent and it was meant to be that simple. I think people should be able to transform, reimagine, repurpose, and head canonify the series however they want, but I don’t want to talk about Izuku more than what he’s doing in the narrative during my panels that I am hosting for pretty much any reason, ever.
I actually WAS at AWA last year - I did a game/craft panel where teams of people made their own shonen delinquents, and I hosted NOTHINGBURGER: The Pretentious Animanga Debate Panel. I’ve submitted a Witch Hat Atelier version of the former and a remixed version of the latter as well as a few other for-fun panels, but I don’t know if they’ll be accepted.
