You've got nothing else to prove, Leo—we've seen it for years and years. The greatest of all time. You completed football when you won the Cup in 2022, and honestly, my initial thought when this year's WC commenced was, “It's alright if Argentina doesn't win again, give the other nations a chance.” And yet, everytime you were faced with the opposing teams throughout the tournament, i was still silently rooting for you. I couldn't help it. Maybe that's what my loyalty means: no matter how big the amount of hate, insults, and criticisms being thrown at you, i will still choose to stand by the team i picked to support.

Spain may have won FIFA World Cup 2026, but Argentina will always have my heart.

Lionel Messi, i remember you as the first soccer player and athlete i admired when i was younger. You made me fall in love with the beautiful game, so it's only fitting that your last tango will be my last watch. Despite the new generation of footballers being good, i can't imagine myself watching if you're no longer in it. The football world will surely miss you when you retire. It will never be the same and no one will ever be like you.
