What I love about Motoko is that -she's basically a fusion of Molly and Case skills-wise, and so the Neuromancer influence on GitS is blatant, -canonically bi since her first iteration and I would bet able and willing to propose a threesome if she met the other two in a bar

(also, so influential to the second wave of cyberpunk that I bet a lot of people made janky Cyberpunk/Shadowrun/etc... characters wishing to emulate her rizz and failing to do both hacking and fighting with hilarious results *raise hand*)

don't worry, depending on the spoilers it's either early things that won't be spoiling for long, or things that won't make any sense for sooo long that you'll doubt your memory until they finally materialize. I personally learned of Ryoka's current romantic choice while reading volume 3, and so spent a good few chapters going "Wait, what ? Seriously ? THAT ONE ?" *retch*

So it seems that taking burrowing claws is coded to put them on your two first hand-like appendages, so I got one clawed hand on my right arm and one clawed pincer on my back because bilateral symettry is for chumps

Read in a fic a line where some secondary character says to Tattletale "You're not Chevalier." and...

it reminded me of this iconic Marx Brothers scene https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x7clor and I thought about the (very contrived) scenario of the same scene with the Undersiders (classic lineup, so pre-Needlepoints). -Brian puts on civvies and the hat, with shadow always conveniently obscuring his face whenever the customs guy tries to compare the picture with it. He absolutely refuses to sing, though, and is sent back in the line.

-Lisa goes in as herself, purple suit and all, and still makes the customs officer doubt for a few minutes that this blonde teenager is or isn't french singer Maurice Chevalier. And then she pushes on his buttons a little more, he quits his job and is replaced by another guy. Back in the line.

-Rachel can do a convincing disguise... As long as she doesn't talk. Also, the customs guy say something about her dogs and so she punches him. Back in the line.

-Alec finds the real Chevalier on-board, masters him and make the real guy impersonate himself, musical number included. He passes customs, go down to port while signing autographs to everyone (and flirting with everyone too because Regent is having fun) and only when he's gone does Alec remember the assignment, and that he's still stuck on the ship and also now the passport is gone. He never even entered the line. :(

-Aisha, laughing her ass off, brings back the passport since she can come and go as she wishes and... What was I talking about ? I forgot.

-Taylor, as always, decides to go above and beyond the call of duty, removes her glasses, puts on a perfect masc outfit and trains her voice to mimic Maurice's using Internet clips, agonizes over hiding her hair yet do it for the team anyway (and has a few weird gender thoughts that she decides to bury and never explore ever again, as Taylor does). She even has an alright singing voice, but the public attention makes her have Emma trauma flashbacks, she buries everyone in bees and flies and the Undersiders leave the ship in the confusion.

A lot has been said about Arco's fun gameplay, its killer soundtrack and its anticolonial text, but I bet the game can get even more attention on the hellsite if I mention that the main characters of the two first chapters past the prologue are respectively

-a grandpa-aged not-mexicano on a revenge quest against big oil thugs, -a not-aztec woman built like a brickhouse with her tits out who wishes to be a professional arena fighter and has a single braincell (sometimes)

Update : The city of Brockton Bay is nearly exploding with cape-on-cape violence. Meanwhile Lisa is doing her best to never be seen near a cape fight, doing her best to avoid Coil's plans to kidnap her, untangling the Dallon situationship, studying the Assault/Battery situationship, wrangling Shadow Stalker, and now she's started seeing the threads of the Cauldron conspiracy. Also, everyone now knows Victoria and Lisa are flirting except, of course, Victoria and Lisa. Perfect fic, 10/10.

Update 2 : in a moment of shared emotional vulnerability, Vicky nearly kissed Lisa after having blindfolded and handcuffed her (it made sense in context) and it took power use for the Thinker 7+ to understand she had feelings for her. Perfectly platonic stuff. They're so useless, I love it
