you are the grandson of one of jaehaerys's thirteen children, second cousins with all of viserys's children. your father is a targaryen, and your family tree is... quite complicated, while going kind of linear because of targaryen traditions. your father lost many of his siblings due to rebellions and conflicts; the targaryen rule is strong currently, but it was only the fourth generation of targaryen kings during jaehaerys's time, and although he managed to bring peace to the realm, it took many years of effort and devastation. your father is somewhat battle-hardened, and has been through a lot of grief, so he can be emotionally absent, or lack efficient communication skills sometimes, but he loves all three of his children. you are the eldest child, and his heir, so you were raised with lessons on many topics, and the responsibility of leadership on your shoulders. not all of jaehaerys's children lived (especially from the male ones), and then, not all of them had many children (and not all of those children lived to old age, either), so despite what an outsider might think, you don't have that many relatives.

your mother is a hightower, very pious. she clashes with your father's side sometimes, as she's headstrong, and very protective over her children (whom the insane targaryens keep wanting to send off to war?? as if she'd let that happen??).

your younger siblings were also raised with excellent education and a sense of responsibility. you got along better with your younger sister, as you had more disagreements with your brother.

but, despite the... complications, you grew up in mostly a happy household, as a confident, well-spoken, and well-read person. as a prince of the realm, you were proud of your family, too. not the... not every single thing they did in history, but the current ruling power, and the better direction things had taken with your great grandfather's, and then uncle viserys's rule. you wanted to help make the realm a more peaceful place, lead your men in a compassionate way, and leave a legacy historians would speak of fondly.

firstly, be flattered, because rhaenyra is mah girl.

growing up, you saw rhaenyra quite a lot, due to your father being quite close to his cousins, viserys and daemon, and fighting side by side with them whenever the need arose. you used to play together as children, pretend to be warriors and dragons. your dragon was born before your birth, meanwhile syrax was an egg placed to rhaenyra's cradle when she was born, so your dragon was bigger, and you could mount him much before rhaenyra could mount syrax. seasmoke was mild-tempered for a dragon, so he would sometimes let rhaenyra pet him.

you became very close friends with rhaenyra as you grew up but... not best friends, and not as close as you would want to be. you didn't know when it happened, as there was no distance that you could feel between the two of you when you were children, but along the line somewhere, as you became teens, a distance appeared. you could feel it, but you couldn't scale it. it confused you, as you weren't the one responsible for it, but you couldn't really ask rhaenyra about it, or close the distance however much you tried. you treated her very sweetly, and tried hard to get in her good graces, but she just... wouldn't close that distance. you would see her whispering to alicent and then immediately changing the subject when you approached them, or giggling with her when you were away. you weren't confrontational, you tended to close yourself off and be upset in silence, so you were just left... wondering what you'd done wrong.

well, what you didn't know at the time was that rhaenyra had a big, huge, fat crush on you. embarrassingly so. she hated it. she didn't know when this horrible condition had befallen her, but she'd realised it one day when she was fifteen, and then she'd wanted to die. you were just— you were just... ugh. you were kind, and sweet, and compassionate, and smart, and— and, your men loved and respected you, and you were nice to your sister, and you respected her and never doubted she would achieve anything she put her mind to, and you were supportive. you could be a bit too trusting with the wrong people, but she could balance that out. she felt embarrassed, and angry at herself for a while, so she ran away from you reflexively. she didn't think you would even realise, honestly, or even if you did, that it would effect you in any way. you were confident, she didn't think you would grow so anxious about her behaviour. you did tend to stress over the problems that arose between you and the people you cared about, she knew that, but... it was rhaenyra, there was no reason for you to grow anxious, so the thought simply hadn't even crossed her mind.

i do think teenage rhaenyra could be feisty and a bit rebellious about her crush. she could flirt and all confidently, sure, but not with you. you were a close friend. she told alicent about this tragedy, of course, and alicent tried to introduce rhaenyra to this thing called common sense, because this wasn't bad, actually. her father would definitely accept you as her future husband, so she should be calm about it. rhaenyra did eventually manage to approach the situation logically, and then she started being more normal around you slowly. that too, left you confused.

anyway, adult rhaenyra is more level-headed and understanding, don't worry. well, you two still tease each other sometimes, and are both very comfortable around each other, despite both of you growing more serious with age and more responsibilities.

you two ride your dragons together sometimes, even race each other. you speak in high valyrian with each other quite often, as you both like the language. you do so in public to trash-talk others sometimes, or so that those around you would think you're trash-talking them (while you talk about something completely unrelated), and then secretly laugh at their reactions.

you sometimes play cyvasse together, as you both like strategizing, and while you're only doing it for fun and do not care about winning, she can get friendly competitive, and so end up winning more often than you (which makes her happy and so makes you happy in return).

she doesn't care much for furniture or how things look around the room, as long as the basics of aesthetic pleasantness is met. you do care though, and enjoy the process of decorating, so both of your offices and your bedroom and some other rooms at the castle are decorated by you. she appreciates your taste.

both of you would need and enjoy some alone time (in your day-to-day lives), and sometimes would need to go far away for days on missions. you would tell each other all the tea upon meeting up again, especially if some nobles tripped over themselves. you're nosier than rhaenyra is, so she makes a mental note of the social things happening around her even when normally she wouldn't care, because she knows you enjoy hearing all of it, and she finds your reactions funny in most cases. she listens to you spilling all the tea you very willingly and happily notice as well, even though she's not that interested in all of those herself, she likes talking to you.

alicent hightower. you were friends with her as well, as a child. she was a relative from your mother's side, and you grew up with her at the castle too, with rhaenyra. she was always the most level-headed and calm one between the three of you, and she was reserved and well-behaved, as if she was being watched constantly (she was). you never got close enough to her to know that you were more similar than you thought, as she always maintained (even as a child) some decorum and distance between you two, as a proper lady. the way she would also get nervous and fidget sometimes, the way she also struggled to connect with her father... alas, you never got to truly learn about her or bond with her more deeply. especially as you grew up, she became "rhaenyra's friend" more than "my cousin" to you. and later on, you became enemies, as your place was by rhaenyra's side.

viserys targaryen. viserys loves you. he was delighted to learn his daughter wanted to marry you. literal dream come true for him. all this man wants is good vibes around the castle and for everyone he cares about to get along well, really. rhaenyra choosing a targaryen, no less the child of the cousin he likes so much, no less probably one of the mildest-tempered members of his family? he's winning.

daemon targaryen. you have... a complicated relationship with him. on one hand, you do get along well, as you both are proud of your family, and enjoy martial arts, and he's a very strong leader, which is a trait you used to kind of look up to as a child, and you're on the same side, after all. but also, daemon can be very cruel, and mean, and cold. he's hard to form a normal relationship with, and there are many instances when you disagree with him. he does like you, you are his nephew and the son of the cousin he sometimes fought side by side with, but also, he doesn't like you that much. it's not you, it's him. daemon can't even fully like the people he's closest to.

criston cole. this dude hates you. good for you. kill him in a duel pls. (for legal reasons, this is a joke.)

rhaenys targaryen. she's been fond of you since you were a child, as you were polite and respectful, and now you're one of her favorite family members. she likes how you never underestimate anyone because of their gender, or judge anyone because of the things they can't choose or change about themselves. you are one of the people she wouldn't mind marrying her daughter.

the government knows that you are a gifted, a special ability user; you never tried to hide it. you haven't done anything wrong. you may hide it from the regular people around you, but you would tell anyone who asked; it's a part of you. flight and invisibility give you so much freedom.

you're just a normal person who's living a normal life outside of your special ability, though. you go to work, you have one dog and one cat, you have a garden that you love to take care of, you do daily skincare and dance in your room with music you love. you've managed to live a mostly normal life, and because you don't pose a threat to anyone, the government never bothered you directly. and your existence was kept secret from the port mafia and the like, so you were safe.

one day, some government officials visited your house, asking for your help with a mission. your invisibility would be beneficial, they said, we are in desparate need of it, they said. you agreed, because it was to save children. you met with tetchou then, when you got introduced to the hunting dogs, to help them.

he doesn't exactly know what to do for you... should he buy flowers? he's seen guys do that. maybe... maybe chocolatte? should he ask jouno? no. no, that can't be a good idea. in the end, he does pick some flowers from a flowershop, and you... love them?? that was the right choice, after all. phew. good.

you play chess together, he's not a professional player, but good at strategizing, so he makes a very challenging opponent. he doesn't let you win on purpose, and even beats you sometimes. he enjoys playing chess with you, of course, seeing you in your element.

your cat loves him; he doesn't invade the kitty's space, leaves him alone, is calm and even while he's exercising (as he does, a lot), he's balanced and calculated, so your cat decides that he should be the one to invade tetchou's space. tetchou pets your cat whenever he lies on his lap. he never really used to pause to look at or pet animals; he was always busy, he was a killer with a duty. this change of pace is welcome, though, it's a gift from you to him; the simple every day things of a normal life.

your dog loves him too, obviously. doggy loves everyone.

after a while of dating, you took him shopping with you for the first time. he doesn't really... go shopping. he doesn't have many clothes outside of his uniform, either. you decided that needed to change, of course, and what's better than to have your own empty canvas of a handsome man? you bought a lot of matching clothes for the two of you mostly in line with your own tastes (he refused only a few pieces, really). he started wearing them whenever he visited you, or on your dates.

it's good that you can understand people without having to hear them spell their feelings out, he's never been the very expressive kind. he's grateful that you reached out first, that you didn't judge him, didn't make him feel bad about anything he said. you were open to him, and clearly interested, so he was able to... have something he never really thought he would.

and, it's a good thing you found him, you'll be one of the most protected people on earth now. no one can get through him to you, you may fly to your heart's content in the sky without worrying about being seen. if any, any organization sets their eyes on you; you will be the last thing they can ever wish for.

jouno saigiku: no one is more surprised that tetchou was even able to find a girlfriend than jouno, let alone someone as sympathetic and nice as you?? what is going on?? since when??

jouno likes you to a certain extend, he thinks you definitely should stay away from his world. you're talented, definitely, and a good person, too good to know even a fraction of the things he knows. that won't stop him from teasing you and being a know-it-all menace, though. he insults jouno mostly, though, through you. "you know, tilli, i feel like i'm not the only blind person in this room. in fact, you are in worse condition. what do you even see in this guy?"

he also knows about your fanfics and all. i am so sorry about this, he's the only one though! he brought it up one day, thinking you would be fine with it since you already probably knew that he'd looked into everything about you (you did not, what?). but you were mortified, probably the most taken aback he's ever seen you. so he made the wise decision of not bringing it up again. might ask you to write a few things for him, though. because he can be a menace.

fukuchi ochi: fukuchi just likes you, really. you were cooperative, easy to work with, useful, and you offer one of his men some form of normalcy, which is valuable and has increased tetchou's success rate (which was already around 100% but he can see it anyway). he would be happy to work with you again, if the occasion rose.

okura teruko: this girl is wild but she surprisingly likes you kind of?? she joins your outings with tetchou sometimes, and you let her perch on tetchou's shoulders, and you listen to her yap about her... questionable interests, even though it clearly bothers you. so... she's fine with you dating one of her men? like, it's all right, actually? you are a normal citizen, after all, one of the people the hunting dogs should be protecting.

I ship you with... Tony Stark! I think you deserve someone as smart as you, someone who can share your love of learning. Your observant nature makes you one of the few people who I think could see past the "genius billionaire playboy philanthropist" facade to who Tony genuinely is as a person; compassionate, vulnerable, and, in spite of his flaws, genuinely kind. You're both perfectionists and solution-oriented. You're also both almost certainly Leos.

I always like to have a bit of complimenting opposite traits in my pairings, and so I like the idea of someone extroverted Tony with someone introverted like you (and lets be real here, Tony is kind of a secret introvert, yes he's good at handling crowds but he seems far happier and comfortable in more intimate settings). Also, he's a certified yapper and you said you love listening to others talk about their passions.

Superpower

So, as we all know, in comic book universes, being even remotely tech literate is the equivalent of being an actual super genius. Ergo, your superpower is robotics. As far as the world's concerned, you're another guy in power armor. In reality, said armor is merely a shell you are controlling through neural linked VR from a thousand miles away. Without a squishy meat person inside, you can get a lot more creative. Need a tiny person to get into places only Antman can follow? You've got a suit for that. Need somebody to get into conditions that would cook or crush a normal human alive? You've got a suit for that. And without a human filling up space, you can cram your suits with whatever you want, weapons, supplies, you name it.

Backstory

Reverse engineering Ironman's suit wasn't meant to be a superhero origin story. It was meant to be a fun personal challenge. Nothing serious. Apparently Stark Industry's legal team did not agree, because you got a knock on your door not long afterwards. You were facing charges ranging from copyright infringement to corporate espionage when the man himself intervened. Anybody with the chutzpah to not only replicate, but improve his design didn't deserve jail time- they deserved a job.

Why they Fell For You

You didn't actually meet Tony in person for a good while. I doubt you'd want to uproot your whole life to live with a rotating cast of insane strangers on another continent. So you operated virtually, communicated with the rest of the team through comms. It took some adjustments, but you developed a pretty good banter with the rest of the Avengers- especially Tony. He got used to having you in his ear, to your company, your good advice. I headcanon Tony as some sort of AuDHD, so I think he found it a lot easier to connect with you through voice call, no microexpression involved. He'd already developed a pretty strong attachment when you finally met in person for the first time and- oh. Wow. Your photos didn't do you justice. One look and he was over the moon.

Headcanons

I know you're not a flirt. Luckily, you don't need to be, as I assure you Tony will do plenty of flirting for the both of you. Absolute tease, this man. He'll compliment you until you blush. If you're in the field and he can't see your face, he'll keep going until he gets something, uncontrolled giggling or groans or "ugh, stop it."

Wherever you want to travel, just say the word and he's ready to go. Luxury vacation. A private jet with world class catering and the best hotel ungodly amounts of money can buy. If you want to go camping, its a full glamping experience. And if you want to go star gazing... you know where there's absolutely zero light pollution? Literally space.

Always with the snark between you two. Tony adores your sharp edges, he never wants to see you file them down, not for him or anyone else. You simply wouldn't be you without them. He thinks you care too much about sparing other people's feelings. Who cares what other people think? People are idiots and their opinions do not matter. Someone as amazing as you shouldn't need to perform for anyone.

Likewise he respects your independence. Give the man some credit, he's not that much of a hypocrite. Its not easy for him though. Yes, he knows you need your space to work on you own but he just wants to be around you all the time. Let him into your space sometimes, the two of you can work together. He can be a real cuddlebug when he's in the mood, resting his head on your shoulder and looking over at whatever you're doing.

I can't imagine you would much enjoy the publicity aspect of being an Avenger, and certainly not of being Tony Stark's lover. Although, I'm sure you could handle the press with plenty of grace, Tony makes damn sure you don't have to. Nosy reporters get hit with ragebait answers, any paparazzi snooping near you have their camera equipment suffer unfortunate accidents. Just because Tony has grown numb to having his personal life invaded, doesn't mean you have to suffer the same.

Cast Dynamics

Bruce is probably your best friend out of all the Avengers (geek squad unite!). You're chill enough to not freak him out, and fun to talk to. While you don't fully get nuclear physics, and he doesn't fully get robotics, you can still learn a lot from each other. That being said I think Hulk has a lot of trouble wrapping his head around VR armor. He sort of treats all your different suits like different people.

Steve appreciates you. You're a good team player, unlike some people (*side eye*) and you stay calm in a crisis. He hopes (in vain) you'll be a good influence on Tony. With your prompting he's started drawing again in his spare time, its a nice way for the two of you to relax and hang out. He's not a fan of all the flirting on missions though. The two of you are worse than Bruce and Natasha. Speaking of Nat...

Natasha is always nice to you, but she's standoffish, as she often is. You never really know what she's thinking, whether she approves or not. It was only after the Snap that the two of you became closer, the two of you and Steve the last of the original Avengers still fighting.

Clint honestly is just realized there's at least one person on this team who's sort of mentally well adjusted. I don't think you're that close with him because if he has to give another pep talk he'll loose his mind, so he'll shut you out the moment you show the slightest emotional vulnerability.

Thor is... a lot. He's always a lot. Fascinating to listen to but can be a bit hard to get a word edgewise in over. But he appreciates your interest in the northern countries he considers his adopted home and people. I'm sure he'd love to watch the northern lights with you.

Vision, the only AI you'll ever like. If Tony is basically his dad, does that make you his mom? Don't panic, I don't think he'll ever treat you like a mother figure, especially if you don't want him to. Still, he does look up to you, a steady, collected presence in his chaotic life. Also, how can he not adore you- it was you who rebuilt him after Thanos (Its my matchup and I'll fix canon if I want to so there).

Ever After

In this version of events, it was you who snapped the gauntlet at the end of Endgame. You thought using your virtual suit would keep the illimitable energy of all six stones from completely overwhelming you. In a sense, you were right- but the neural link to your suit was your undoing. The sensation of the stones ripping it apart into dust was transmitted to you and it was utterly unbearable. You were in a coma for almost a year, but when you woke up, Tony was still by your side.

megumi is introverted and mostly quiet himself; a kind of confident, deliberate quietness. you two would be comfortable around each other, and he would understand you. he wouldn’t get offended by how you were cold when you first met, and how you can become distant around people sometimes. just existing around each other in silence would be easy, and talking when you feel like it would come naturally.

you have your similarities, he also is blunt and direct, and does not shy away from bold choices, and their consequences. there would not be many misunderstandings between you two, if any at all. you would match each other’s energy in almost every situation. (sometimes become dangerously wild during fights, but i disgress.) megumi would love getting to know you deeper, and getting to watch you become more talkative, more open with him. he’s not as soft on the inside as you, but he would match your energy every time, as that has been the case since the start; you understand each other. you just click.

on the surface, it doesn't sound quite right that jaime lannister — the golden boy himself — is your match. however, you could find yourself surprised by how deeply these waters can run.

initially, there is not much of a spark; jaime lannister is too flashy, too mighty, too cocky for someone such as yourself who seems more withdrawn, more observant, and more cordial. that does not mean that he is spared from the honourable duty of accompanying you in the gardens of the red keep. you seem to enjoy the breeze there — it keeps the air just cool enough, and you find it preferable as opposed to the harsher winds you've experienced whilst travelling in the north.

you're an odd thing for jaime — not swooning, not batting your lashes, hair cut so unusually short. he wonders where his brother had found you — because, of course, tyrion was the one to take note of your wits and invite you in for banter and knowledge. it takes both of you a painfully long while to conjure up a proper, meaningful conversation, but it happens at some point. for all his flashiness, jaime lannister had been brought up to be an extremely knowledgeable man, after all. should you find yourself looking for a book, or pondering over a question, chances are that jaime knows how and where to direct you. it's one of the first cracks to shatter the facade between the two of you. neither of you can even recall the moment at which things seemed to take a turn — it just happened, and now jaime bears a newfound reputation of a genuinely decent partner for conversing.

jaime falls first, slowly. it creeps up on him. he doesn't know what it is at first, but there is something about the way you speak to the others with a certain amount of empathy and kindness. there is something in the proud smile that tugs at your lips after you've done something well, or received praise because your hands have aided someone, somehow. jaime has been so lost in his affairs, so quietly jaded in the cold gold that seeing someone so good stirs something in him. it's the way you stick to your principles, to your ways, to your honour. it reminds him of the starks.

he finds himself gravitating around you more and more — seeking your company, seeking your words, your observations. you make him feel like a better man. or like he could be. the way he lets himself enjoy the feeling is a little bittersweet. his entire life revolved around something else, after all. there is a dose of self-loathing eating away at him at the sole thought that he could let himself have something a little better, a little brighter. he is not used to this kind of love — the love that urges him to grow, to offer his hand in peace and goodwill rather than to shed blood and strike with the blade of his sword.

jaime catches himself feeling protective of you. he calls it a knightly duty or something. there is a particularly masculine desire in him to bring you joy — he'd taken it upon himself to be oh-so-chivalrous and ensure you have your own steed ( all because you've pet his own mighty ride with such bright eyes ). he'd ridden with you, all proper and careful, only to be left completely and utterly baffled — and so smitten — by the way your competitive spirit finally shone bright and demanded a race as opposed to the leisure trot.

maybe... just maybe, he can allow these feelings to grow. it could be the one right thing he'd do in a long while.
