WIP part 2!

Version 2: complete! I may go back in to refine it (make the edges even, try to remove the Saran wrap remnants)

More on the process: I saran wrapped my dolls arm and fingers specifically, and then wrapped the whole doll to avoid any mess.

I took a (very old) gauze from a first aid kit and cut it into strips. I then dipped these strips into my paper mache mixture (about .5 part Elmer's glue, a glob of green paint, a couple drops of yellow food coloring to up the color, and then .5 part water) I soaked each strip of gauze and squeezed out the excess liquid before wrapping around the dolls arm/wrist. I built up several layers until I figured the shape and thickness was good. Let dry overnight.

Mafuyu’s back!! I was today years old when I learned the Dollstown 18 yr body can do a pretty mean seiza/kneeled sitting, and he was so stable, so of course that’s his new position now forever and he can even sit in the cabinet this way…

I busted my ass on this shoot, on the floor, sweating under the lights. But I think it was all worth it for Soom Dia #2! He’s also finally wearing his Fifth Motif hands which I’m debating if I should blush or not, because technically the white paint they use in kabuki goes on his hands too!

This post talks about a new DM feature in youtube. What it fails to mention is that as part of this new feature is that when you send someone a link to a video, and they open it in the youtube app, they will see who sent them the link. Specifically, your channel name.

If your google account name is your real name, so is your channel name by default.

This means the new default behavior is that everyone you send a youtube link to will see your full name if they open it in the mobile app.

To turn this off:

Go to your youtube app settings

Go to Privacy

Turn off "Channel visibility for shared links"

Implementing this has improved how I feel about myself, and HOW I SEE OTHER PEOPLE!!

I’m not a burden to put up with. I’m a person who deserves respect, but does have some idiosyncrasies.

Other people aren’t barely tolerating me, they’re being patient and considerate and working hard to be polite.

Sometimes I forget to post projects here, the one place I could write a whole wall of text in!

I saw this body on ig and it had a backstory, but as soon as I saw it, I had to message the owner to buy it! I was originally going to do another kintsugi/visibly broken doll, but I’ve been challenging myself to do different things this year, like I used to when I was fresher to the hobby!

Step 1 was gluing everything together with loctite and reinforcing the insides with apoxie sculpt. Step 2 was finding a head and purpose for this. Luckily I have plenty of floating heads!

This one had more intact pieces, and it could almost pass as normal once everything was put together. All fingers and toes fit, all joints and the only thing it was missing was one half of an elbow peanut. The one piece I couldn’t reinforce lest it look weird were the fingers. I will look for some gold rings to cover them!
