i think brits have the wrong idea about people making fun of them for their food. everyone has weird and bad or just odd food. brits spent centuries claiming they had a moral superiority over every other culture and staked their colonial claim on half the world by taking their food and spices, and still ended up with the atrocious mess we see today. its different

I love this picture because even 70 years ago, way up in the Arctic in a culture very different than my own, a 17 year old still had the same “Dad, please hurry up and take the damn picture” expression that characterized every picture taken of me from 2001-2007. 

Some things are universal

thinking of the time I ordered olive garden online and I put "please speak to me in an Italian accent" in the special requests category and completely forgot about it, and when I went to pick it up the guy comes out and goes "eyyy I got-a your-a order bappada boopity!" and when I told him he didn't actually have to do it he was like "a-nooo I was-a looking forward to it! I was-a the only one-a brave enough to do it!"

i have to admit it’s actually extremely funny how game of thrones completely collapsed as a cultural phenomenon basically overnight due to how fucking bad the last season and ending were, and also how like the showrunners specifically rushed the ending so they could move on to some disney star wars project but the rushed ending was so fucking bad they actually were removed from the star wars thing too.
