This strange man always stood out among the unfamiliar crowd. He drew all attention to himself, yet at the same time seemed utterly insignificant — as if he'd never been there, or never even existed anywhere else. He exuded something awkward and unsettling, though our encounters always brought calm to my thoughts. He told me the most bizarre stories, introducing himself as a "eternal nobody." It seemed as if he knew something no one else knew, but was always avoiding telling it. He always talked about things that sounded very much like nonsense. "I am everything that cannot be seen," he repeated, sitting right before my eyes. "And canned beer is complete crap." If it weren't for the unsettling chill radiating from him, I might have mistaken him for the town madman. However, even such company would have been quite interesting to me.
