he will be treated as a martyr and his death used to inflame the faithful and it would set gaius up perfectly to be unable to criticize him. forced to revere his image as a faithful and dogmatic servant to the emperor while every day she grows to be more and more resentful of him discovering everything he denied her her entire youth. but he has cultivated an environment completely free of any criticism of him for her to grow up in so that she would be terrified to ever express her own judgements of him as a person or even a father. even when he’s dead she is paranoid people are serving her out of loyalty to her father and to criticize him would be to alienate them. even her own mother worshiped him. so she resigns herself to silently stewing in her loathing of paul. #trappedforever in his shadow
