Honestly? I think Gooseworx was brilliant. She made a story that was interactive without telling anyone, because in my personal opinion? There was 2 shows going on: The Amazing Digital Circus and The Viewer.

I wonder if people think about the reason Gooseworx lied to the fandom, because I think it was purposeful. Every time someone asked a question with a controversial answer, she would answer “Literally think whatever you want, it doesn’t matter, there’s no canon you have to abide by.” But it did matter, and in the end there was canon opinion. AND so much of the time these things had been implied. So why did Gooseworx hide the canon for so long? Why did she never blatantly say in the show “this person is gay/nonbinary/trans/lesbian/etc”? One might say it was so it could be a plot twist, but IT WASN’T ACTUALLY A PLOT TWIST.

Here’s what I noticed,

I don’t know what circles you guys live in: but mine is stereotypical Christian with all the bells and whistles that come along with it. And you know what? They all enjoyed the show. and they didn’t enjoy it secretly either the way some do with Hazbin Hotel. They enjoyed it without ANY moral dilemmas. I’ve seen people who will say sadly that they “really wanted watch a show, but it has gay people, so I morally can’t” AND THOSE PEOPLE LOVED THIS SHOW. And some would acknowledge that Gooseworx said “Think whatever you want” and use that as excuse to criticize fandom ships that were gay.

What Gooseworx did was she let people lie to themselves in a way that would have them keep watching the show to the VERY end, and then she doesn’t tell them the truth, but shows it to them. still giving the viewer the illusion of choice in their opinion
