Obviously SecUnit calling itself “Murderbot” is tongue-in-cheek, but before that passage I didn’t realize how self-derisive the name actually is. There are aspects of its intended function that SecUnit actually enjoys, like protecting humans. But it refers to itself by the function it is most disgusted by.

One of my fandom pet peeves is how many fandom sources (including AO3) continue to use “Vinsmoke Sanji” as Sanji’s official name, despite the character having disavowed his connection to the Vinsmoke family multiple times.

I get that his real dad doesn’t have a known surname— just the epithet “Red Leg”— but then surely “Black Leg Sanji” would be an acceptable alternative? Or just Sanji?
