I've never almost drowned but my friend told me a story about he did once and sometimes when I feel like I cant breathe I imagine myself next to him while he sits at the bottom of a swimming pool, stunned and on the brink of disaster.
My childhood was pleasant but my friend told me a story about how theirs wasnt and sometimes when I feel like I cant approach my parents about what matters to me I imagine I'm sitting next to them at the top of the stairs, wanting without wanting.
I never traveled outside my country but my friends have and told me stories and when I go to anywhere new I imagine I'm with them, exploring.
Tell me your stories so I have someone with me as I live mine.

Collage Poetry Scratchboard - a hand painted red tray with gold flourishes shaped like leaces centering on a gold and black bird in simple silhouette shapes looking left. phrase is a slip of paper cut from a novel placed over its neck and trailing across its back mimicing a scarf. Extra phrases are scattered across the tray at the feet of the bird mimicing a nest or brush of phrases. The key phrase that stands out in the word nest is "i have no intention of doing so." Surrounded by more subconscious phrases that may invoke further meaning to individual perception.

Remember back in late highschool early college when you'd do photoshoots of your friends for no reason except to look cool and post online? I found my home again at 35 with a community theatre group who also just hopes it turns into dramatic photoshoots and maybe we all get a silver sliver of memory to hold.
