It's real insignificant considering CH5 is full of references but I'm almost mad I didn't immediately catch Yellow calling the room where he's presumably about to kill himself the ol' Yeller room, in reference to the book / western drama film Old Yeller, famous for the scene in which a sick family dog nicknamed such is put down using a musket
Can't even be mad we got another Asriel knock-off as the antagonist this Chapter because the way the conflict between Asriel's desire for authenticity and individuality vs his people-pleasing golden boy persona was portrayed through Ralsei and Flowery was compelling enough to make me actually like Ralsei after 8 years of feeling absolutely nothing toward him

Checking on Sans’s dialogue about Papyrus again, and when reading the ‘maybe around’ here as ‘may be around’ / implying that Papyrus will be around (present) when Asriel comes home, it seems to imply that, as opposed to the suggestion that Kris will only be able to hang out with Papyrus once Asriel comes home, Papyrus will instead already be “around” (or presumably hanging out with the fun gang) at the time Asriel comes back?
Deltarune is very cognizant of escapism through fiction as a means to deal with the stress of real life so I can only wonder what the hell happened to Warrior that was bad enough to make him like that
When mentioning Asriel, Tenna goes on to say “You used to spend so, so, much time with him. With me.” - which is phrased to sound as though Tenna is saying that Kris’ time spent with Asriel (in general, not just in regards to TV) was also time spent with himself, as though he and Asriel are the same person. Alongside the fact that the TV World is primarily formative of Kris’ time with Asriel (which was spent playing video games with him on the TV together), this frames Tenna as an analogue of Asriel.
Additionally, on other analogous final bosses, after being visually “engulfed” by the new fountain they create in Chapter 4, the Knight is covered and kept hidden under the afterimage of darkness it leaves, and a tower encases the space in which they were just hovering. Before creating it, the camera pans up to the Knight as they rise in preparation, and, after it's made, it pans back up once again, instead this time to focus on the Titan bursting from within the tower in place of where the Knight was.
Afterwards, Susie asks what it is, and Ralsei says that it's a Titan (in what seems to be a direct response to her). Alternatively, however, reading the ambiguous “it” (the same pronoun the Knight uses) here as in reference to not the Titan but the Knight instead implies that Ralsei is saying that the Knight is a (or the) Titan, and that he’s blurting this realisation out in surprise (as opposed to answering Susie).
Given the explicit overlap of the two, and the fact that the Titan takes The Knight's role in the Chapter onwards, it is then to be assumed that the Titan is an analogue of The Knight.

Considering that dark worlds are places where objects are personified and The Warrior is a guy projecting his own character onto an object (the ICE-E suit) and then wearing it like it's his own skin, and his LARPer (live-action role player) bit plays around with the fantasy / reality divide of the dark and light worlds, I feel like it makes sense to assume he's going to be relevant at some point even regardless of other implications

Going back to look at the art again and I really like the choice to have the characters in both of the Famitsu pieces restricted to the main cast but also the random addition of Warrior in the corner looking the camera dead in the eye while waving and being suspiciously cut-off in a way that makes it look like he’s having to lean into the frame. Who invited you and why
Getting into Jackenstein; The Frankenstein's monster inspiration would imply he's an amalgamation of something; based on the candle and pumpkin head, it seems he's supposed to represent a combination of a lightner (the candle) and a darkner (the jack o’ lantern overshadowing or literally ‘darkening’ it). In addition to that, ‘Frankenstein’ was the doctor's name, not the monster, implying that despite the apparent inspiration he takes from the monster, he's both. Combine that with the point before that, and I'm to assume that (based on the classic head bolts denoting him as such) the darkner / pumpkin is the monster, and the lightner / candle inside is the doctor / Frankenstein.
Continuing onward, just as Frankenstein was (itself sub-titled ‘The Modern Prometheus’), Jackenstein also seems to take inspiration from Prometheus - and, given the repeated intermingling of the two during his appearance, equates the light to fire, in Prometheus’ context of it as a symbol of forbidden knowledge. Jack consistently phrases ‘light’ as ‘laight’ - with the root ‘"ai-" meaning "to burn", later supported as the intended meaning when he shouts ‘NO!!! NOT THE LAIGHT!!! IT BURNS!!!’ (which, unrelatedly, also invokes his halloween theme by referencing vampires, lol) during the UNLEASH act, and his check dialogue, ‘An unsightly beast that lives in total darkness.’, which vaguely translates to ‘an unseeing beast that lives in destructive ignorance’ and correlates darkness to a lack of ‘sight’ / an inability to see (in the sense of ‘seeing’ as "perceive mentally, understand”) and ignorance, in contrast to light, which enables sight / knowledge of things.
Speaking of which, as soon as the lights come back on, Jack says ‘DOAN’T LOOK’ and then covers his own eyes, as though he's telling himself not to look. The implication here is that his ignorance / life ‘in the dark’ is self-imposed.
Anyway, going back to Prometheus, Jack’s intro speech to the dark zone, “... LAIGHT... ... WHO DAIRE BRING LAIGHT HEAR... ... GO... BACK…” reads in full as “[those] who dare bring light hear “go back”” - which, still reading light as fire, references Prometheus’ act of bringing fire to mankind. The “go back” (i.e. return to a time before such), however, implies that in this case said forbidden knowledge is deeply unwanted, and that there's a desire to return to a time before it was brought. Take that motif into the context of Jack himself, and it would seem to imply that his self-imposed ignorance / rejection of light is done out of a desire to go back to a time before he was given fire (because he's a candle haha) / became knowing.
Chapter 5's coming up, post completely unrelated stuff
Chapter 5 theory posting before the drop: Tenna’s line above, 'The 6PM show!? I'll show it at 5!!’, seems to imply the Chapter 6 dark world will be shown at Chapter 5, and Jackenstein (an analogue of The Warrior) says that he was 'BANNISHED TO THE DARK ZONE, ONLY TO APPEAR ON FESTIVAL NAIGHT’, which at surface-level reads in reference to the night before the festival, but alternatively refers to the end of the festival day. Along with this, the Autumn 2025 Chapter 5 newsletter teased Warrior’s appearance between Toby’s other cosplays of what seems to be Pizzapants (in his festival get up) and Asgore:
Taking that, and it looks likely that The Warrior’s going to have a more "prominent" role (at least, as prominent a role a present time side-character can get) in Chapter 5 and / or, as per the bit about the "6pm show" and festival night, will open a dark fountain at the end of Chapter 5 (the festival), presumably at ICE-E's, which we’ll get to see before the Chapter ends?
I get they've got too little screen time to justify any popularity yet but Asgore and Carol don't get enough for what they've got going on. Their mutual desire to return their individual families to a time when they felt they were at their most fulfilled / happiest is bringing them together and you don't think that's at least a little beautiful
