¤: sorry about the unexpected absence but I’ve been evaluating my personal mental health closely and I’m sorta falling apart at the seams, much to my chagrin. I’m also suffering from knee and hip pain from overworking and potentially straining myself at work (I talked to my doctor this morning about it to get appropriate accommodations for work).

I will say that for the time being, just a little mini hiatus here. Not sure how long, but not TOO long. It’s just.... I want to be here when I’m happy and able to give Scarlet my all. when I can actually ENJOY myself without my brain flying a red flag at me for nothing. It’s not fair to myself or others to be on here while depressed and mentally exhausted, because it drags other people down.

So on that note, feel free to reach out to me any time on Discord. My activity will continue to be incredibly irratic, especially because of my job as an essential worker.

Swift waited; which would he choose? Swift was down for any option. Having options was better than none at all. When Scarlet agrees to running across the ocean to Eggman’s lair, Swift’s eyes light up. 

Sure, water and him still didn’t get along, though if he kept running, it wouldn’t be a bother to him. He’d never sink unless he slowed down.

Now, he usually wasn’t one for stirring up trouble, frankly he’d rather diffuse issues versus cause more of them.

But seeing Swift’s face light up like that was always something Scarlet was fond of seeing; the cheeky smile, the brilliance in those emerald green hues. It always got to him in a way that he’d follow Swift into whatever chaos he was planning to cause and wreak as much havoc alongside him.

There’s an aggravated ear flick on Scarlet’s part, his gaze narrowing and his expression darkening a degree with displeasure. If there was one thing he hated, it was that deflection Dream was giving him. He cannot help the audible agitation in his voice at this point when he speaks again.

“ Firstly, I will make this explicitly clear to you, and I will do so only once. ”

“ I am NOT wasting my time. If that were the case, you would have been well aware of it long before now because I wouldn’t’ve had the heart to even bring up the fact that I am concerned about your wellbeing. So, do me a favor, stow the attitude. ” 

“ Secondly, while you claim that you’ve ‘got this,’ you will not when you go out with a weakened immune system and proceed to collapse in the middle of defending yourself because you’ve gone and ignored your fever in favor of being a lone wolf. ” He lets out a huff.

The blue hedgehog’s choice of dramatized gesture was certainly something else, but Scarlet graciously accepts the small token from the other hedgehog and looks it over. Such a charming little thing. The additional commentary was no help, but he can’t help but let out a light laugh.

ᚐᚚᚆ ᚜ She shifts uncomfortably. She was used to people being able to get pretty close to her without even noticing she was there- despite being a lot taller than your average mobian, and having bright blonde fur, ironically…

         Whisper scrubs off one last bit of dirt, and pulls a shoulder strap out of the wispon’s body- then slings it over her shoulder. With a light sigh, she stands up and pulls her mask off of her face with one hand. Something about this Shadow felt much, much more different compared to the other ones she’d met- so maybe it was worth it to try staying. For at least a little bit.

ᚗ ᚋᚁ᚜ᚖ᚛ ᚕ⬳ “This is a hot zone... it’s dangerous.”

ᚐᚚᚆ ᚜ There were still a few scrapped badniks nearby- ones Whisper had just pulled apart to help repair her mask’s internal components.

Scarlet has his gaze set ahead for the time being, but does glance over to the wolf when she actually removes her mask to continue talking to him, her tone still set with the same volume, just barely above a whisper.

His ears flick when she mentions that this is a hot zone, even going as far as to momentarily shift his attention to the fact that there were scrapped badniks just littering the surrounding area. Well, this was promising.

He looks back to her, shifting his stance but keeping it casual, relaxed. Sure, she had literally just informed him that the area was still dangerous, but he was fully alert despite what his posture read.

“ Well, even if so, I don’t think badniks will want anything to do with me. ” He idly readjusts the inhibitor ring he has on around his left wrist.

He wasn’t going to touch that opinion, frankly, as he had a generally good opinion of most of the Sonics he’d met.

        “ — ehhhh, i’ve dealt with worse. ” IT’S UNFORTUNATELY THE TRUTH, spoken in tone that matched hedgehog’s exhaustion— he swears he can still feel some of the pink dye in his quills. whirl sighs, idly and lazily scratching at one of his ears while reclining himself against the base of a tree. unfortunately are lime eyes closed, so scarlet’s presence isn’t fully acknowledged outside of continuing conversation. on the bright side— whirl doesn’t seem all too bothered by it, despite how tired he was.

        “ nothin’ i’m not used to at this point. ” ANOTHER TRUTH CARRIED BY A SIGH. why was his life plagued like this.

He watches the other, noting that his very presence wasn’t a hinderance to the cerulean hedgehog, so he casually steps into a position where he’s standing next to where he’s sitting, gazing out into the distance. He knows the other’s eyes are closed, so frankly, he’s fine to stand wherever at this point.

“ Fair. But haven’t we all at some point? ”
