It took 5 years to have their daughter Hannah & they were told that Ivy could never again carry a child lest she risk her own life. Rowan grieved alongside his wife for their loss of their dream family, but that didn't stop their plans. They signed up to be foster parents hoping to be accepted, but were turned down due to how young Hannah was. That's when the papers for Copperdale exchange program came across Rowan's desk. As a member of the Prescott family, Ivy had recommended the Prescott institute let less fortunate students from abroad attend school under the roofs of local families so they could have the best education possible. While Hannah is their only legal or biological child they consider every teen who has learned under their roof as one of their own. Now that Rowan has reached adulthood & moved into the mayor's house after his election he is thinking that Luz López & Melody Hayes might be their last students.

Ivy Hixton (née Prescott) loves Copperdale with all her heart. She grew up in this town and she plans to be buried in her families tomb in Prescott square. When she visited camp Gibbi Gibbi as a kid she was awe struck by the park workers around the camp site and decided that she wanted to be a park worker just like them, but in Copperdale instead. She wanted to be with nature as much as she wanted a family. So she followed her dreams and when she met her husband Rowan she included him in those plans. Everything worked out except for her infertility issues so when Ivy saw an opportunity to become a host for exchange students for the less fortunate she took her chance. Now living in the Mayor's house she knows that Rowan and her are close to the end of their hosting days. But maybe one day she'll get something even better. Maybe one day she'll get to hold her grandchild in her arms.

Hannah Hixton grew up sheltered from the world due to her miracle child status. Her parents knowing they could never have another kid were always hovering over her when she was out and about so she spent most of her time at school alone or in her room with her cat panther. Now as a freshmen at Copperdale high she is finally making friends and getting over her awkward face.

Luz López (They/Them) feels more at home with the Hixton's than they ever did with their mom or dad. Growing up under the hot sun of Ciudad Enamored was nothing compared to the oppressive temperature of they parents marriage. They were always fighting and always neglecting both Luz and their older brother Carlos. In fact Luz would say Carlos was more a parent to them than their parents ever were, even with his angry demeanor. Carlos put himself through hell to get into a high paying job so he could pay for Luz to move across the world to attend the school of their dreams. They get to get the best education so they can become an astronaut like they always dreamed. He is their only family as far as Luz is concerned.

Melody Hayes is very far from her trailer park home. Copperdale is very different from her home town. For one she has her own bedroom here instead of sharing it with her younger brother Nathan. Another was the premium access to lab equipment to follow her conservationist dreams. Melody especially loves living under the roof of her idol, Ivy Hixton, even if Ivy complains about Melody's habit of leaving clothes everywhere.

In an effort to save her sons from that corruption she gave up the royal life and took her boys on the run. Luckily her mother, Vivian was moving out of her rent controlled apartment so she could move back into her childhood home. Now she and her boys have somewhere to stay.

Charlotte Lewis might not have much to her name as a forty year old mother of two, but at least she's free. Her ex-husband is her ex for a reason. Although she misses her mother in law, Meredith Roswell, she much prefers life out here in the Valley. Here she is not only far from her ex, but close by to her niece, brother, and mom.

Chloe, the eldest, more of an artist than a country girl. While she enjoyed horses, she spent most of her time painting the beautiful people and beautiful landscapes around her. It turned out well as she is now married to an art critic with two beautiful children. His youngest, Amelia, stayed closer to home taking up maintaining the family ranch. She got married to. traveling man that Luke can be proud to call his son-in-law. Now without Gianna he spends the rest of his life caring for her prized horse, Olympia, and awaiting visits from his youngest grandchild.

They feared they would come second to that all encompassing passion so they stayed far away. What she needed was a man who carried her passions to keep up with her. That's when Hyeon fell in to her life. The slightly younger man was as infatuated with nature as her. They fell deeply in love. He came away from that experience with a few close friends and a long distance girlfriend. now that he's back in Chestnut Ridge he is exited for every summer break where he can see his friends and his princess girlfriend, Greta Laurent.

Pizzaz is a name that means fun games and good food in the city of san myshuno. This fun scrappy women has made her mark on the city as the queen of video gaming. She makes videos of her life in the center of the fashion district alongside her bestie Izzy fabulous and dog Kona. All while keeping her young orphan nieces funded and out of the spotlight.

Penny Pizzaz loves the life she has built for herself in the big city, but she wishes she could have shared it with her big sister Diyah. Her sister was a great role model to her in life and inspired her to follow her dreams. She died in a microwave fire and left behind her two daughters. Now as a successful streamer she tries to send as much money as she can to her little nieces so they can not worry too much about money. She even just started a college fund for Vanesha to go to design school.

Beau is on his own caring for his little brother. Sure, his mother lives with him, but she does more to add to the problems than fix them. Brandi parties all night bringing unsavory men home while Beau cares for Joey. He had to drop his after-school activities and pick up a job so he could pay the rent on time. All he can dream about is escaping this broken down trailer just like his brother. Only he’ll be taking little Joey with him.

Brandi Broke is a woman on a mission to get as much money as from as many gullible men as possible. After the death of her one true love she decided she wasn't going to settle down again. He was perfect for her in every way and no other would compare. That didn't mean she would never Woohoo again. After all, how's a girl with a low level critic job supposed to take care of her children without help from all the men in her life. Now if only Dustin and Beau would under stand that she is doing this for them. She's just a single mom who needs money. So what if she spends most of it on new clothes and better shoes, she needs it to lure in all those men for her boys.

Beau Broke loves his family, but he could do without his mom's excessive partying. He knows she is still grieving her husband, but that doesn't excuse her spending or neglect. He cooks almost every meal in the house and takes Joey to school every day. He knows this life isn't good for his little brother or himself. He only wishes that Dustin had taken them with him to college. He hasn't spoken to his older brother since he left town, but he still loves him. He knows he'll need to do the same soon with little Joey coming with him.

Joey Broke is a dapper young boy with a love for animals and adventuring. He spends as much time as he can down at the local bowling Alley and the space museum in town hanging out with friends. When he's not there he's hanging out with his older brother Beau or going to school. Hopefully someday he can finally attend science camp at the center of Oasis Springs.
