Married in 1302, Savannah and Kevin weren't exactly strangers due to her family taking Kevin in as a ward. But to say they were childhood sweethearts... well, not exactly. They were friendly but there just wasn't a spark. Still, Kevin was a Baron, and Savannah was a beauty, so they both felt the need to try. In 1309 they finally had a child, a son called Kevin Junior, but he passed away after two weeks which has broken both of their hearts. Will they ever be able to make it work?
Savannah Price, 26
Being a baroness has elevated Savannah to the nobility and a world she's always dreamed of but had just been one step behind. She makes sure she is always seen at parties, wearing extravagant gowns and bright jewels. At home she's prone to throwing tantrums and pouting if she does not get her way which has led to her dear husband figuring out pretty quickly that money and attention are the key to a happy household. Inwardly, despite her socialite persona, Savannah is highly intelligent and a noted mathematician using her pseudonym.
Aspiration: Computer Whiz Traits: Geek, Materialistic, High Maintenance
Kevin Puri, 27
Kevin has never really cared for being a baron, let alone all the social obligations that come with the role. He's very awkward, and keenly aware of it, which is why he's so grateful Savannah has the social polish needed to smooth over any blunders he's made. Sure, she can be a bit spoiled, but Kevin knows how to make her happy and it's such a relief that she's so easy to understand. She also encourages his painting, something his family had scoffed at before their passing.
Aspiration: Painter Extraordinaire Traits: Social Awkward, Art Lover, Romantic
Revelations: Chapter 5
Those houses appeared out of nowhere for a reason, as if it was an act of the Watcher itself, sending a message to the masses. It would have caused a panic in the province, but a heart-to-heart with one of the province's finest could help put her worries at ease.
But exactly HOW much could he tell her...?
Certainly NOT that she and everyone else was living in a simulation.
Detective Sierra Moss gripped the steering wheel and slowed down, now that she was driving through the heart and soul of this smaller and quiet Copperdale town. This slowed down her breath, and cooled her jets, enabling her to regain her composure and focus.
She felt like she was coming to the end of solving this big mystery, but was still hesitant on what she would actually find.
Sierra parked the car, and walked up to the house by the shore. She noticed that the street address. It happened to be the same as the month and day listed on the resident's birth records. Was that a coincidence, or another clue that HE was involved in this?
She knocked on the front door. "MR. STIMBLE! ARE YOU HOME?"
"Come on in! It's open!" He welcomed her, from the living room.
"I'm sorry I caused you all this worry and stress, Detective," he said from the couch, shutting off the TV with the remote.
"You can call me Sierra, sir," she walked in and took a seat. "What should I call you, Mr. Stimble? Yogi, or...oimygiblets?"
"Haha. When you said that phrase over the phone earlier, I knew you and Detective Dan had pieced it together. Excellent work, Sierra!" Mr. Stimble grinned proudly. "Yes, THAT'S how I came up with the new changed name of Yogi Stimble, using an anagram generator."
"What exactly IS that phrase to you, uh...Mister--" Sierra asked him.
"Just a cheeky screen name that makes me giggle, every time I log in," he said, chuckling, while his chest and belly shook. "My birth name is Erich, though all my friends nicknamed me Cal. It was because of a certain state I always wanted to visit, when I was much younger."
"OK, then," Sierra nodded. She was feeling more comfortable talking to this older gentleman, who was genuinely helping her with this case. "So, WHO exactly are you anyway, in the realm of this mystery."
"I made some coffee. You'll probably need it, when I tell you," he stood up, and led her over to the dining room, to lay out his cards on the table.
"Well, that hit the spot. Thank you for your hospitality," Sierra nodded, but was still anxious to get back to the case. "So, Cal? Have you been directly involved with those two houses reappearing in Newcrest."
"Yes. I placed them back there myself," he confirmed, as her eyes popped. "Sitting across from you at this table is...a Watcher..." Sierra sat in silence, eyes peeled and focus on the man across from her.
"Don't toy with me. I didn't drive all the way out to Copperdale to--"
"I'm not lying," Mr. Stimble interrupted her. "I'm not the only Watcher, either. There are millions that oversee maybe tens of millions of different worlds. I happen to be friends with a few of them."
"This is CRAZY!!" Sierra lost her cool. "You REALLY expect me to believe this half-baked, screwball explanation?! I swear I will bring you in for questioning, as soon as I get a warrant--!"
"STOP!" Mr. Stimble thrust his hand towards the window, as the rest of the world was paused, silent. He glared back at her, to let her get her breath back. Sierra then noticed the paused world around her: the amusement park, birds stopped in mid-flight, and the silence.
"You did this?" Sierra felt like she was coming closer to understanding what Mr. Stimble really was, and about absolute order.
"GAME ON!" Mr. Stimble tried to joke, waving his hand back at the window, as the world around them resumed. But Sierra looked more stressed and worn out, knowing the truth now. "Let's head outside."
Sierra definitely needed some fresh air, feeling light-headed. She bolted out the back door, running for a bench overlooking the harbor. "Wait up! I may be a Watcher, but I'm still an old fart!" Mr. Stimble wheezed while he lightly jogged over to the bench.
"Sorry, I needed some air," Sierra settled down in her seat, looking around at the pier, the water, and the sky. Everything she had known in her brain up until now was completely blown away. "OK. I'll take you at your word, but...WHY are you here now?"
"We Watchers usually do not intervene in the lives of the sims in each world," he exhaled. "But I HAD to, once all those homes in Newcrest were being demolished for that stupid pro football stadium. You can't take away people's homes for that. They had to be taught a lesson."
"YOU stopped the stadium from being built?" Sierra asked.
"Yes. And in bad judgment, I made those two demolished houses reappear back on that lot," Mr. Stimble showed remorse. "I'm familiar with Eden Bloome's situation. I was thinking of just giving her..."
"Really? The house back? That's wonderful news!" Sierra was elated. "So there was truthfully NO malice involved in your plans?"
"Nah, I'm a builder at heart," Mr. Stimble grinned proudly. "Who do you think was involved in the new community rec center in Newcrest. That should be finished at some point, right where part of the stadium was going to be built. Oh! I have other building ideas, but..."
"But what...?" Sierra hesitated, wondering if there were consequences.
"I hate to think of this as gaslighting or a bribe to a government official, but..." Mr. Stimble said. "I have to fix the collective consciousness of this world, as if those two houses were NEVER demolished, and were always sitting there. Think of it as going back to a previous save point."
"Is this like that Sims In Black movie, and you're going to make me look at a pen, and I lose memory of this whole conversation?" she joked.
"I don't know. You and you colleagues earned this victory, tracking me down and solving this case," Mr. Stimble pondered this. "But, if taking away this mystery and case from existence...well, I guess it's a bribe to help you keep your sanity. Does that work for you, Detective?"
"Unfortunately...yes," she exhaled, relenting. "This revelation might be too much for me to keep secret from this world. But, before you erase this knowledge from me, have you seen other worlds out there?"
"All things are singular, but not unique," Mr. Stimble quoted, while raising his forefinger. "Yes, I've seen a bunch from my Watcher friends, and there have been sims that have travelled between worlds, too. As a matter of fact, you would probably be good friends with one of them. She was a secret agent solving cases across dimensions..."
The two talked until the sun set, before Sierra had to travel back home. He waited to get a call from her, that she arrived safely, before...
...restoring absolute order to this world.
Now, on to the next one.
