batman was injured. if you aren't afraid to say the truth, brutally impaled, right through his side.
there was so much blood. clara never thought a human body can have so much blood inside it.
her hands were crimson. her suit and her face. she tried to wipe the tears away, but they just-
they didn't stop, nor the blood, gushing from batman's side at an alarming rate. clara was afraid if she pressed harder, she would break his ribs.
she didn't know how much time has passed when her suddenly numb hands were removed and carefully cradled in someone else's. diana was looking at her with no attempts to hide her worry.
she made her wash her hands and face, but didn't protest when clara returned to the medbay to sit on the floor beside the closed door, like a dog.
clara felt like a dog. helpless, worried out of her mind and so helpless-
if she could, she would howl, but it wouldn't do any good for the team spirit to see superwoman howling in despair...
finally, after what felt like forever, the door opened.
she barely waited for permission, before unpolitely pushing past medical personal inside. good thing they were professionals and stepped aside in time.
clara didn't really care at the moment, sorry.
batman made sure she couldn't use her x-ray vision and super hearing inside the watch-tower in case she was compromised. but now she was in the same room as him, and she could hear his heartbeat as clear as day, and she could see h-

and so clara, superwoman, stood there, feeling like everything she knew before suddenly could be a lie. which is impossible, but-

caught up in her realisations, she didn't notice that the realisation in question was very much awake.
a low, but noticeably feminine voice dragged her back in reality.
"never seen 'n naked woman 'fore?" batman asked her with a crooked smile.
there was a lot to unpack in that statement for sure. first of all, was that a genuine smile? second, was that flirting?
clara decided to adress the third and the most important thing at the moment, like the adult woman ma grew her to be.
"are you drugged on morphine, b? because if you are, none important conversations are happening between us right now" she hoped she sounded sure in herself, but batman was probably to drugged to notice.
a scary thought visited clara's mind - what if h- she decided to remove the cowl in this state? unlikely, but she never seen her out of it so much. clara can't take anymore drama for today, thank you.
"jus' little. n'thing t' worry 'bout" and god that crooked smile again. batman was going to kill her one day.
"yeah, right," clara sighed, "how are you feeling?"
"am'zing all th'nks t' you. d' you like my boobs?"
clara wanted to scream. but she didn't, because she was an adult, had an adult job, and was more than 21. not by much, but still. and because for all her playfulness, b seemed very upset at the prospect of her not liking her breasts.

"no! that's not what i meant, ah... i guess i... like them?" what a day to be alive. batman asked her if she liked her boobs.
batman eyed her suspiciously, but decided to trust the statement.
...and promptly fell asleep.
leaving her to contemplate her life choices and deal with hysteric alone. okay, cool. she needs to get the fridge out of here and do that safely somewhere in the fields of kansas.
