The day i met you is a day i remember clear. The hums of the lights, the giggling of the children, the tinkering of toys, the environment of my workplace is still burnt into my memory.

My days always consisted of kids playing around the building, but they would always leave at some point.

Not you.

No one came to pick you up, no one came to ask you how your day was, no one came to take you home to a freshly made dinner, you were a responsibility the parents neglected.

But as everyone panicked on the next course of action, all i felt was sympathy for you.

So in the heat of the moment, i offered to care for you.

And i dont regret it.

Not one bit.

I admit, there were times where i was stressed, especially since the day i took you home was on the whim and unprepared, but i stayed strong and resilient for you.

And I'm glad i did, because the memories i have of you are memories i hold dear, even the times you were quite the troublemaker.

I miss you more than ever.

And I'm sorry in your last moments, i failed to protect you from the danger that hurt you from the start.

I hope the land above is nicer than this cruel planet.

Because my little girl only deserves the best.
