Economi, tragedi and shit. A poesy I made about my life and the working class peoples voice!
The Peopleโs Poem โ English Version
We are the people. The working class, the poor, the low middle. Born in Sweden, or brought here by waves. Men, women, and all other genders, with callused hands and tired backs. We build your roads, serve your coffee, fix your engines, clean your windows, nurse your elderly. We are the ones who hold this country up. Yet the elite says: โThere is no money.โ โNo jobs available.โ โWe must cut back, make do, lower expectations. โBut the profits rise, the bonuses grow, while we are told to tighten beltsuntil ribs crack.
Toyota, Kronofogden, the debt collectors, the greedy companies โthey take from the ones who have the least. They repossess our cars, strip our homes, leave children sleeping cold. And the people, instead of rising together, are taught to fear one another. The Swede fears the immigrant. The immigrant distrusts the Swede. Men blame women. The Right blames the Left. But none of them cause the hunger, none of them cut the staff, none of them ordered the layoffs. It is the elite. With their shiny shoesand empty hearts.
They turned us into enemies, to keep our eyes off their gold. To keep us distractedwhile they steal the soul of the nation. Now the warning siren wails โdivision echoes in every street.
The people are hostile to each otherinstead of hostile to the system. But still, we dream.Of a tomorrow where the builderand the cleanerand the bakerand the cashiersee each other as equals โnot enemies. Where skin color is not a weapon. Where your backgrounddoes not decide your worth. Where we stand side by side โrainbow-fleshed, fierce, and free.
----------------------------------------------------------My Personal Poem โ English Version
I walk this land without a shadow, without label, without color. For my skin is anonymous โyou may guess, but never know.It may come from Europe or Asia, Africa, Australia, North or South America, perhaps the Arctic, perhaps Antarctica. Maybe from all. Maybe from none. I am not Black. I am not White. I am mahogany, olive, chestnut, beige, amber, bronze, ivory, copper, lavender, pale pink, gray-blue, green-brown, rainbow-split.
A kaleidoscope in every cell. Still, I have been judged. Not by one group, but by fathers of all kinds โBlack, White, Brown, Pale. They saw me and judged, not for what I did,but for what they feared I might be.I confess:
I am tired. Exhausted. Called a parasite, and sometimes, I feel like one.But I fight anyway.I avoid conflict, stay quiet, lock my doors, walk into nature. Breathe in the silence of snow, listen to the patience of grass. I donโt want more hate.I am not dangerous. Iโd rather be called a nerd,a fool, four-eyes, dreamer.
Call me anything โjust donโt call me the enemy. When I look at the people, I see pain.I see Swedes turning on immigrants, immigrants on Swedes.Right against Left. But all of them are struggling โin the same fight, against the same elitewho divided us to stay in power.I dream of a world where we stop saying: โThat Black one there,โ โThat White one here,โ โThat mixed one,โ โThat Eastern European.โ Let us be new colors!
Give us blue skin, green skin, pink, purple, orange, cyan, mint, turquoise, lavender, colors like the fish that change with time. Then maybe weโll see each other as human. Not race. Not origin. Not threat. Just rainbow flesh. And freedom.
