listen. i know some of you guys are ride or die for taylor literally to an extent that terrifies me but you cannot deny that the lover era has been expensive. and that’s deliberate. that’s intentional. the four journals. the deluxe albums. the merch. the tickets. what do all of these things have in common? it ain’t cheap. taylor explicitly said in her rolling stones interview that she is in charge. she is the business woman. she is head of marketing. all decisions go past her. that means the silence about loverfest, the manipulation of fans by not stating whether or not she would have a lover stadium tour later on, the complete lack of transparency in regards to ticketmaster, her knowing that only very wealthy fans will be able to travel across the country or the freaking ocean to see her perform… she knows these things cost money. has she lived in a bubble of upper-class wealth her whole life? yes. has that worked against her in this era especially? YES. she comes on tumblr to promote like a few of the same thing 20 times, and leaves. she is a rich and wealthy white woman who has not worked 37 hour weeks, who does not live paycheck to paycheck, who does not have to budget for rent/bills/food/commuting to work (all the shit that every other person on the planet has to deal with), so it is easy for her to be careless with her fans and their money. and that’s the truth.
