Here in brazil we have a pretty reliable digital ID and government platform that verifys everything for us. It's super handy and, though it has its problems, has been implemented super well in the more burocratic sectors of public life.

This shit ass age verification platform is simply not working, I try doing it over 50 times, it breaks every single time. Some times it broke after it collected my data. The platform has my data. I'm not verified. This shit is bizarre. You guys that have a way more fragile/sensitive I'd sistem are fucked when it gets to you.

I'm not joking. If any private info of your ID is sensitive or can lead to access to shit like bank accounts, you are fucked.

Here in Brasil things are less reliant on the numbers, you can fake to some extent but if there are already pre existing accounts it doesn't work. You need email, password, and other shit, just the ID info is not enough. Its also a public info that is easy to find on our online government databases.

But, the fact that this shit, that demands I use my phone to work, breaks constantly when I'm doing it and doesn't re-conize when I already did it. It's shady as fuck. Also, In no place it allows for me to link it to my gov.br account, which would verify me instantly.

And the face recognition part is the most bugged. The ID scan works immediately, than it breaks after you already gave your ID. This shit is data mining and It's ensuring your data enters their system trough several attempts, it will probably delete the one that finally goes trough. But by that point it already has a bunch of unfinished attempts that the system can just conveniently pretend don't matter.

You guys are fucked.

nagato has a purpose. nagato has a goal. nagato believes that the only way to bring peace to the world is to make others feel what he has felt and, on a more practical level, destroy the mechanisms that ruined his and so many other people's lives by destroying the leaf village. and kishimoto can't really give any good reasons for why he's wrong! the best the story can give for a resolution to his storyline is to kinda shrug and say ahhhh naruto will fix it eventually at some point in the future probably. but naruto knows he's right. naruto acknowledges that he's right. nagato's retribution is justified because he is imagining a future; he's looking for justice, and the story seems to think there's something honorable about that. nagato's vengeance is vengeance for the living.

now, it bothers me when people characterize sasuke's vengeance this way. just bc you hate konoha (me too girl) doesn't overwrite the textual reasons that sasuke does the things he does, and those reasons are not because he's the kind of revolutionary that nagato was.

sasuke's vengeance is vengeance for the dead. it is about his grief and nothing else. sasuke doesn't want to kill itachi because it will accomplish something for the future; sasuke doesn't believe he has a future. he isn't interested in it. he wants to resolve his guilt and he wants to stop being scared and then he wants to... well, die, probably. we watch him slump like his strings were cut after he finally kills itachi, and the only thing that brings him out of it is when obito offers him a lifeline in the form of a reason to double down instead of die.

sasuke freaks the fuck out after itachi dies. not to quote dostyevsky in a blog post about fucking naruto, but the truth prompts him to realize that he has, in a few words, "destroyed and betrayed himself for nothing." he becomes more erratic than ever, he changes his goals over and over again, he's even more arrogant than usual, he joins and then leaves the akatsuki without thinking through what that means, he drops any and all semblence of a moral code. karin repeatedly remarks that she doesn't recognize him. he swaps out the object of his vengeance over and over again as an excuse to keep running on autopilot. sasuke's response to this devastating compounding grief and trauma is to dig the hole deeper and deeper until he inevitably dies.
