Quite Magical, Indeed

Webby shrugged. “Sometimes it’s like that. I just wasn’t sure if I needed to call 911 or not until you woke up.”

Jace looked up at her and gave her a confused look. “Why would need to call 911?” he asked. “Was I tossing or something?”

Moving from her current position upon the ground, Hope got back upon her feet; brow furrowing in slight frustration, “Wait — ” She paused for a brief moment, as she reached out her hand and allowed for her blue gaze to fall upon the man before her, “Take my hand, I have an idea.”

Jace looked at her for a moment, tilting his head as hair fell into his face for a moment. He hesitantly reached out to take her hand. “What, are you able to make a portal?” he asked. 

Susan was startled when all of a sudden someone had spoken. Noticing that there was a boy sleeping on a chair. “ You scared me.” Susan mused with a smile. “ Did you wake up too soon?” She asked.

Jace looked up at the girl and gave an apologetic smile. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.” He promised, adjusting to sit up more in his chair. “Just didn’t expect to fall asleep is all.” he chuckled weakly. 

zoe had been walking by for something when she had came across the other that seemed to have just woken up. “are you like late for something or whatever?”

Jace shook his head. “No, not late for anything. Just didn’t want to fall asleep in public.” he answered. “I’m sorry if I scared you.”

“Raj.”

“Most girls do.” Major nodded. “I have to get off this teenage brain before I start watching Twilight.”

“You fight demons? Hm, can’t say that I have come into contact with one but with my team, it’s probably only a matter of time before one shows up.” She wouldn’t be surprised as it feels they had fought everything but them.

Jace nodded. “Raised in the profession.” he replied with a smile. “Sometimes you don’t realize that you have. They can hide in plain view sometimes.” He explained. 

“Mhm.” Wanda just hummed. Her mind was too focused on the lights in the sky. Breaking into a smile. “I don’t blame you, this one goes over mine as well. I guess some people like to make as much noise as they can.”

Jace gave the girl a smile and nodded. “Sometimes noise is a good thing. Sometimes demons don’t like a lot of noise.” he explained. “Maybe it will help keep the peace a little longer.” he suggested, shrugging one shoulder as his eyes watched the sky light up. “Let everyone rest before we have to start fighting again.”

“Fair enough,” Clary laughed. She shook her head, wondering what she’d gotten herself in to. “Should I go first, then?”

"Pick a song, then." Jace said, leaning to kiss her. It felt like a miracle to have Clary and Jace was glad she was strong enough to stick around after the mess of his possession.

“Yeah, I’ve kind of realized that some of the Clave rules are kind of stupid.” He admitted before sighing. “Um…” He didn’t know why, but he felt kind of embarrassed to admit that he was stressed and having weird nightmares. Jace always seemed to well-together and Alec had to fight not to break his stance. “Just…been busy.”

Jace arched a brow, lifting a hand but stopping himself briefly. What if his brother was having nightmares after what had happened? The doubt in his eyes was present as he reached out to lay a hand on Alec's shoulder. "Alec, you're a terrible liar." He replied. "What's wrong?" He asked, fear and worry welling in his chest.

“Are you okay? You look like you’ve been here for a few hours.”

Jace rubbed his temple, giving a nod. “Yeah, I just didn’t mean to.” he replied, sighing. He pulled his phone from his pocket to check the time, shaking his head and fiddling with his empty coffee cup. “It’s been a rough week.” he half lied.
