World of Warcraft Isn't a Cult

Loki watched him, humming in intrigue. “I shouldn’t be surprised. Asgard is unique in itself.” He mused, tilting his head and once more looked down, shaking his head. “I haven’t…young Avengers? I doubt the current ones would allow me to be anywhere near young versions of themselves.” He replied. “I remember the final battle in Asgard…Satyr and my sister…the ship as Thor decided where we were going, but I don’t recall…making it here…” He reached up to rub at his throat for a moment, an ache there he wasn’t sure he could explain. 

Jace gave a little smile. He didn’t know how to explain it, but Simon was a friend. Jace wasn’t used to having anyone other than Alec and Izzy, though, so afraid of being hurt deep down that he usually kept people at arm’s length on a good day. “Thank you, seriously.”

Kat nodded a little as he head. He hadn’t tried to contact spirits in a while, but he still knew how. [Text to; Simon <3 - Where are you? I can be there in a flash and we can see if she’s open to contact. You’re a great friend. As for bringing anything, you can bring what you want. I may need to see about stocking up some stuff for you so you don’t have to worry when you come over. *winking emoji*] 

Loki arched a brow. “Blood? A vampire, here? HOw can you withstand the daylight?” he asked, looking up from the comics. “That may be why I’ve gotten such odd looks. No one here actually knows me, so they think I’m just unique from where I come from.” He hummed thoughtfully. “Well, this is interesting.”

Jace nodded, his jaw clenching just slightly. He hadn’t said much to anyone about it, Clary knew a little but he hadn’t had the heart to tell her every detail. He didn’t want her to hurt over something they couldn’t change now. He tensed a little, looking away as he blinked back the blur in his vision. “I was forced to watch from my own mind as a demon with my face killed the only living family I had left in the world. What do you think?” he asked, hoping the pain in his voice could be mistaken for anger. Imogen had been his only relative, and he’d finally been able to feel like he knew where he belonged and he’d been forced to watch her die with nothing he could do. He closed his eyes and shook his head. “Sorry, I just…it’s something I have to deal with. I didn’t mean to snap at you.” He lifted a hand to rub his temple, looking up at the vampire curiously. He was about to politely decline, but Simon was already texting, so he gave a faint smile. “Thanks, Simon.”

Kat had been working on prepping a meal when his phone went off, and he smiled as he recognized the ringtone. “My little vampire.” he murmured, picking his phone up to read it. HE laughed softly at the message. [Text to; Simon <3 - Depends on the favor? Remember, in some cases, I share my dad’s power. We may not need to get him involved. And you can pay me back with dinner tonight. My place?]

Loki frowned a little, looking through one of the comics for a moment. “It’s true I’ve never been particularly good. I will admit to some rather…poor decisions.” He said, green eyes scanning the pages. “But I intend to forge redemption at some point.”

Jace gave a little grin. “Everyone needs it from time to time.” But he didn’t say anything more on it, tilting his head before shrugging. “It’s not that I ignore it. It’s a part of who I am now, it’s not like I can change it, Simon.” he explained. “I’ve just learned to accept it. Yeah, it sucks. Growing up believing Valentine was Michael Wayland and that Michael was my father is still a lot to wrap my head around from time to time, but it doesn’t change that I’m the same Jace that survived it in the moment, and I survived it when Valentine resurfaced.” he replied. “Just like I’m pretty sure even though you’re a vampire now, you’re still the same Simon that’s known Clary her whole life.” He was quiet for a moment. “The current issue is everything after Lilith.” he admitted. 

Loki shrugged. “Think of it what you will.“ He replied before rolling his eyes. "I’m sure it would make a lovely adventure. Not much fun to live it, I’m afraid.” He arched a brow at the teen as he spoke. “Yes, that’s right. How did you know that?” he asked, eyeing the kid suspiciously. “What is it you intend to show me?” He asked, crossing his arms.

The confirmation made Jace smile as he watched Simon talk about this boyfriend. He couldn’t help the little chuckle as the vampire rambled. “Hey, you know you aren’t the second fiddle, right?” he asked. “You’re important to people, Simon.” Which was probably the first time he’d come remotely close to saying how the other had grown on him. He nodded a little and he shrugged. “Like I said, as long as he makes you happy, he doesn’t have to worry. But I don’t want to hear any details when you two reach that point, deal?” he laughed softly. 

Jace gave an arched brow and a grin. “Does he make you happy?” he asked, tilting his head. He didn’t like admitting it, but Simon had grown on him. Hearing that Simon was seeing a guy helped make it less awkward about the fact they had both dated Clary, but mostly that she had chosen Jace when it came down to it. “As long as he makes you happy, I won’t need to have words with him.” he said, giving a little grin. 

Loki chuckled. “My brother brought the survivors of Asgard here, but I seem to have gotten separated from them.” he sighed with a shrug. “To my knowledge, y brother and I are the last ones left. Our sister killed a vast majority of the remaining gods.” He explained. 

Jace arched a brow and smiled. “That’s sweet. Who’s the person?” He asked, not assuming anything as he watched the daylighter. “I know we don’t have the most exceptional connection, Simon, but you’re Clary’s best friend. You’re important to her, and that’s enough to matter to me.”
