Come along to Mream’s Frida exhibition opening on 14th March 6pm. I’ll be revealing an interactive Frida community art project too. “Frida, fun, flowers” are my clues 😉 art work credit: @maddame__ … . . posted on Instagram - https://ift.tt/2VOzX3v
Indigo shibori on silk and cotton blend scarf. It looks like a woven Ikat pattern but is made by twisting and tying the fabric to create a resist pattern. I love this technique and pattern effect.

Eucalyptus Caesia tree bark spotted in Caroline Springs providing me with New Year textile design inspiration.
Happy New Year! These are my top nine posts for 2019. Sending wishes to you all for a wonderful 2020. A new year and new decade is a clean slate and fresh start for unknown adventures. I’m excited about exploring eco-dyeing and printing in the next year and decade, getting my knitting mojo magic happening and sharing it with you all.
Gorgeous koala street art in sleepy Seddon. I wonder what colour those eucalyptus leaves would produce if I brewed them up in a dye pot? I’m always thinking of textiles and creating; even when running errands. Artist credit: Alex Kinneen (aka Sugar Sweet Paint)
Indigo dyed silk scarf detail of nui Shibori technique. The scarf ends have a more dense and detailed mokume (wood grain) pattern. This scarf was purchased at the recent MREAM Pop Up Shop and is heading off to the Dominican Republic as a gift for a loved one - the best reward for a time consuming technique that I love to stitch.
Detail of my linen tea-towel; eco dyed with eucalyptus leaves and iron. Resist pattern made by folding and clamping the fabric using bulldog clips. Thanks for the positive comments about these tea-towels at the Mream Pop Up Shop. Follow me for future eco dyeing workshop announcements.

Shibori indigo dyed silk and cotton scarf which will be at my surprise “pop up shop” at Mream Studios Xmas Exhibition tomorrow. 4pm-6pm. BBQ Christmas Party from 6-8pm. 32 Hampstead Rd, Maidstone, Melbourne. I’ll have indigo and eco dyed silk and cotton scarves plus kanzashi silk flower brooches, hair clips and earrings. See you there!
I have relocated my art and design studio to MREAM Art Studio‘s in Maidstone. I am very excited about my new studio space. It has natural light and is a large enough space to set up my knitting machines and other textile equipment. I will be surrounded my other local artists, designers and musicians. Being based in the Inner West of Melbourne means my studio is closer to home and I can be involved more with the local community. MREAM offers opportunities to collaborate with other artists, exhibit regularly in MREAM exhibitions and offer workshops and classes in the communal spaces within the building.
Fallen Winter leaves signal the change of seasons, movement to Autumn and the exciting beginning of new growth. I’ve moved my design studio and will share news of my new location soon. (There is a clue in the tags)
