bernadetta |Ā leadenwillā:
Ā Ā Ā though she takes some ounce of pride in knowing her old habits are slowly slipping from her grasp, bernadetta canāt help feeling the pinprick of desire to shirk away from the sound at her door. she could remain in quiet solitude, simply pretending not to be there until whoever wanted to intrude gave up & left. many people would do so easily, as sheād so often experienced before the monasteryĀ fell into despair. bernadetta grasps idly at the hanging fabric of her shirt sleeve as ingridās voice filters through the door, & in a moment of time slowing in tandem with the racing of her thoughts, she decides to fight against the fear building in her gut.
Ā Ā Ā a length of time passes with no sound from the room within, & to some it might appear as if bernadetta had resigned herself to once again remaining alone in her room while history unravels at the seams outside her door. slowly, the faintest sound of shuffling feet approaches the door, followed by a creak as itās opened, partly revealing bernadettaās cautious, concerned visage from the other side.Ā ā ā¦ā¦ y ā you really did come back,Ā ā she murmurs, one hand curling around the door.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā ingridās heart thuds in her chest when she spots and hears the door creak open, like sheās about to lay her eyes on something she isnāt supposed to see.Ā she supposes the obvious assumption would be that she stayed home, that sheād fight for lord and kingdom and family ( ah, sheās still working on that one ).Ā but it felt wrong to abandon her black eagles classmates, to deny the fact that her chest swelledĀ like a balloon breathed to life when she read edelgardās manifesto.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā she presses her lips together when bernadetta speaks, allowing for a silence to pass over the moment.Ā her crumpled expression says it all, as if the weight of her choice is crushing her at this very second in time.Ā Ā ā ... i did, ā she finally mumbles, forcing herself to maintain eye contact with bernadetta.Ā thereās not really time to regret what sheās done now that sheās here, so she tries to uphold a strong front.Ā even then, itās not hard to tell that sheās cracking.Ā Ā ā itās ... relieving to see your face, ā ingrid admits, smiling sadly and clasping her gloved hands together as she peeks through the doorās crack.Ā Ā ā are you feeling up for talking?Ā iāve missed everyone terribly. ā
