She's Doing Just Fine

Day 1 of attempting to dedicate myself to a slower paced life.. So much is being lost in our current society and I want to practice and preserve my mindfulness and intentional living.

Going to bed early last night was extremely helpful. This morning, I was able to love on my future husband, make coffee, make myself a simple breakfast, walk my dog, and drive to work while listening to one of my favorite podcasts. This pace of life will be really good for my mental health and I hope I can keep it up.

This afternoon, I am hoping to be productive at work, go to the gym, and eat leftovers for dinner along with a nice salad while I peruse homes for sale on Zillow.

Someone gave me a cucumber sandwich recipe.

Nothing special, simply: sliced cucumbers, mayo, salt, pepper, bread.

As a lifelong vegetarian, I got excited. It must be good if someone is recommending it. NOPE. It was hardly mediocre.

They creep in so slowly I don’t even notice them at first. I find myself falling into the sofa each day after work to watch a show, becoming lazy about meals and settling for the fastest dinner to microwave, sitting down in the shower and genuinely thinking about nothing.

I’ve started to pick fights with people I love and end up smearing tears into my pillowcases each night… this isn’t my first time in a place this dark.
