head tilted, dazzler patiently waits for her fellow blonde to go on — but the moment rapunzel shows the first hint of hesitation in her follow-up, alison understands where she’s gone wrong with her inquiry; making the princess feel judged was never the goal.
“oh, that’s not what i was tryin’ to get at, honey, i’m so sorry,” alison begins, trying to recorrect the course of their conversation before it goes off too far. “i didn’t think you were bein’ gullible one bit, i promise. it’s just…”
how should she say this? if she should say it at all. all things considered, unicorns is practically the best-case scenario — unless it’s the variety that’s truer to the pre-medieval texts — when compared to what dazzler deals with on a daily, often hourly basis in her corner of the world. but what about in relation to rapunzel’s ‘tuesday’?
should a popstar with otherworldly-ambitious wanderlust be the bearer of what could be extremely life-changing news for the younger woman?
“i believe you,” dazz begins, a wholesome smile on her face. “and i appreciate that you are open-minded, zel. that’s not a bad thing inherently, i'd say you’ve got a good head on your shoulders!” and lots of hair — but alison will spare her the lame jokes for now. “so, well… what if i told you unicorns are real? among other things.”
less is more, but it’s practically impossible for alison blaire to ever quit while she’s ahead.
“we can always pretend i never said that in case this sounds too crazy for you,” and hope that her royal highness never actually has to deal with mythical beasts in her life; unlike a certain disco singer, but - “it’s cool, really.”
