This was a shot of me today doing what I love. I met with the co founders of a nonprofit who are doing great work in our community to raise the self esteem of young girls. Helping nurture leaders who nurture the community gets me PUMPED. It just warms my little do-gooder heart 💗 hahaha. I left feeling inspired and knowing my work will not only effect these two amazing leaders but many future leaders to come. It took me what felt like forever to get to a place where I finally know what the shit I am meant to do in the world. But holy shit when you find it - it’s worth every moment of frustration trying to find it. Because when you are living out your purpose, it’s like the gift that keeps on giving. When you work you are energized, filled up & lifted up. Oh man this is so good and I needed to read this after my comedy show. I fully let out my Slim Shady alter ego on stage the other night. My rage was in full effect lol. The next day I was worried that I had “gone too far.” Which I’m sure I had, but that’s what I needed. I WANTED to have a space in my life where I didn’t have to keep it together and make sure not to ruffle anyone’s feathers. I wanted to let it rip and feel that freedom. I wanted to say the wrong thing and uncensor myself. And so I did. But I’m typical risk taking artist fashion it didn’t come without the hangover the next day where your sort of doubting that you did the right thing. This is the face of a positive patty who finally broke down yesterday. This month has been a train wreck so far. We have mold in our house so we are living out of a hotel. The kids and I have been vomiting all night with the stomach flu. My husband got hacked. And we had a very traumatic experience with a babysitter who put our kids lives in danger. So as we move through our vomit, anxiety, and trust issues lol...I can feel my energy coming back today. Sometimes things get worse before they get better so I’m just assuming that’s what this is. Even if I’m lying to myself it’s a better alternative than just being depressed so there you go lol. Today feels lighter because I got to see my lady bosses last night. @lisasteadman @christinadunbar @kristinaitalic & @couturehappiness I love you ladies to the moon and back. Relationship truly does fill up and energize the soul. If nothing else, all this bullshit will serve to be great for my comedy show on Sunday night.
